The second day of the New Hampshire Republican Party’s “First in the Nation” leadership summit kicked off Saturday morning with a speech from MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, a former GOP congressman. As you might expect, the reception was lukewarm at first — especially when he tried to land a series of fratboy-ish jokes — but became much warmer when he talked actual policy and tried to stir the crowd into rallying around conservative principles for the 2016 election. NBC News says “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough will be a senior political analyst for the network with regular roles on “Meet the Press” and the “Today” show. Generally, over the past year, NBC News has sought to distance itself from MSNBC, where a politically liberal viewpoint dominates. NBC said Friday that Scarborough will be a regular contributor to round-table discussions on “Meet the Press." Scarborough will offer analysis on other NBC News broadcasts and work as part of the network’s election team.

Joe Scarborough believes Islamic State terrorists will be intimidated by President Obama’s golf game just minutes after his statement on beheaded journalist James Foley, perhaps thinking to themselves, “Wow, that’s one cold bastard.” The “Morning Joe” host unveiled his alternative explanation to the “horrifying” images of Obama grinning ear-to-ear on the golf course right after a sober statement condemning the execution of an American journalist by Islamic fundamentalists in Iraq.

Joe Scarborough on Thursday had harsh words for Israel’s actions in Gaza, saying the country was engaging in “indiscriminate” killing. “This is asinine,” said the MSNBC host and former Republican congressman. “This continued killing of women and children in a way that appears to be indiscriminate is asinine.”

Joe Scarborough of MSNBC’s Morning Joe has a book out. So he’s on the book trail, which last night, amazingly enough, included a stop with Fox’s Megyn Kelly. His performance was astounding.  Why astounding? Megyn grills ole Joe on the “perception” among conservatives that he is a “faux conservative” and a “RINO” because, among other things, he said of CPAC that it was filled with people who had “hate and resentment [and were] pushing talk radio” and that “you don’t get along with our own Hannity.”

If there was anyone in America who recklessly rushed to prematurely proclaim a position on George Zimmerman, it was Joe Scarborough. Before Zimmerman had even been arrested, at a time when even Al Sharpton was being relatively cautious with his language, Scarborough used his Morning Joe platform to brand Zimmerman a "murderer." Nicolle Wallace is the perfect MSNBC kind of Republican: the kind who isn't sure if she opposes Obamacare. On today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough was seeking to make the point that while Republicans are divided over tactics, they are ideologically united in opposition to Obamacare. He described us today as a bunch of "very stupid people" living in their mama's basement who write "really stupid things" about him. The trashing of Ted Cruz continues apace in the bien-pensant MSM. From the New York Times, to the Washington Post, to Politico and elsewhere, the liberal media has the new Republican Senator from Texas in its sights. The Washington Post's Greg Sargent on Tuesday seemed shocked that Joe Scarborough, who he paints as the voice of moderation, agrees more with Democrats on deficit issues than Republicans. On the subject of fiscal problems and the debt, the MSNBC host told Sargent, "I don’t expect to be cheering House Republicans anytime soon."
