Yesterday we saw USC left tackle Chuma Edoga get himself ejected from a game against Utah State after getting a little bit too physical with a ref during the heat of the moment, but this video from the junior college ranks is even worse. Mt. San Antonio offensive lineman Bernard Schirmer took unsportsmanlike conduct to the next level when he allegedly punched a ref while being restrained, knocking the ref to the ground and later being taken away in handcuffs by local authorities. He was charged with suspicion of battery.

As the White House stages a first-of-its-kind community college summit Tuesday, the Obama administration is proposing that stronger partnerships between two-year public colleges and big-name U.S. employers such as McDonald's and The Gap will help better match workers with jobs during the economic recovery and beyond. Community college officials welcomed the new initiative, "Skills for America's Future." But it's unclear whether the project will help meet Obama's education goals. Coach Brad Franchione has been named the 2009 American Community College Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year. The award will be presented to Franchione at the American Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year Dinner on Jan. 12 at the AFCA Convention in Orlando.

The contest will matchup No. 1 Fort Scott Community College (Kan.) against No. 2 Blinn College (Texas) on Dec. 6 at Pittsburg State University’s Carnie Smith Stadium in Pittsburgh, Kan.

Fresno police say as many as 10 men — most of them current or former football players at local junior colleges — sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl. Two of the men, Mackey Lee Davis, 20, and Eddie Scott, 19, were arrested Saturday night at the west-central Fresno apartment where the assault allegedly occurred. They face two felony sex charges, including child molestation."
