Barack Obama has cultivated a rock star persona and used “change” as a rallying cry, attracting young, secular voters, but it could be the large segment of religiously-oriented youth who make or break the Democratic presidential candidate and his Republican opponent John McCain this election year. Three swing states — Ohio, Missouri and Colorado — could tip the scales if religious youth show up the way they have in recent elections, said John Green, director of the Bliss Institute at University of Akron in Ohio. “These ‘battleground states’ are good reflections of the nation as a whole,” Green told FOXNews.com....

Row erupts in Spain over legendary knight El Cid's sword By Sinikka Tarvainen Jun 10, 2007, 14:33 GMT Madrid - A millennium after the death of the legendary Spanish knight El Cid, a row has erupted over his alleged sword. The solid, 0.75-metre sword with a black handle, called La Tizona, has been known as Spain's answer to King Arthur's Excalibur or Charlemagne's Joyeuse. Until now, nobody doubted that the sword, which was on display at Madrid's Military Museum for more than 60 years, once belonged to the country's national hero. But when the northern region of Castile and Leon...

Thursday evening the Texas Tech men’s basketball team plays at home — Lubbock —against the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, UNLV, once a superpower now fallen from grace. If Texas Tech wins, their coach, Robert Montgomery Knight, will become the winningest coach in the history of the sport. And since most of the hunting pack that has pursued Knight throughout his career will recount his many sins, it’s only fair you hear the bright shining side of this knight errant. Yes, he’s got a temper. I have never known a winning coach in any sport who did not have...

A woman who stabbed her partner 37 times before skinning him, beheading him and baking his body parts has lost an appeal against her life sentence. Katherine Knight claimed the February 2000 killing of her de facto husband, John Price, was not in the worst category of murder and did not warrant life in prison. The NSW Court of Criminal Appeal today rejected Knight's appeal against the sentence, which she claimed was manifestly excessive.

St. José María Robles Hurtado by Pedro A. MorenoPriest, Martyr and Knight : A Special Heart With a Special Beat In this article: A Heroic Priest Christ, the King of Mexico Help from the Vatican The Ultimate Witness Almost 80 years ago, on a hill outside of the small town of Quila, Jalisco, Mexico, there was a deafening and deadly silence. A special heart, a priestly heart united with Christ’s own, was stilled. Its special beat, a loving palpitation for the Eucharist, was now silent. The silence became one with the predawn darkness in which a group of soldiers finished...

When Bob Knight took over at Texas Tech in 2001 he found at his recruiting disposal something that just about every college coach gladly uses to lure in top players. He found a fleet of pretty Tech coeds called the Raider Recruiters with the job of greeting prospective players at the airport and showing them around campus, among other things. While the vast majority of these types of tours are harmless exercises, the reason groups such as the Raider Recruiters are so popular everywhere is simple. Sex sells. Even – sadly, especially – in college recruiting. But not with Texas...

However, neither Pat Knight or the rest of the Texas Tech coaching staff had been told definitely that Bob...

LOS ANGELES - One was a rocket plane that flew at the edge of space and with blistering speed. The other was a series of odd-shaped aircraft designed to fly and land without wings. Both research programs are direct ancestors of today's space shuttle, making space travel in reusable, winged vehicles possible, and contributed much to aeronautical knowledge in general. A joint Air Force and NASA research program, the X-15 is considered one of the most successful ever, completing 199 flights from 1959 to 1968 using the skies and dry lake beds of Edwards Air Force Base. Knight, who has been jailed since June 27, faced a maximum sentence of a year in prison for the parole violation. He has been credited for time spent behind bars, said Bill Sessa, a spokesman for the Board of Prison Terms. Even though people on both sides of the issue deny it, it is increasingly obvious that homosexuality is dominating a new place on the scale of American political life. Even in conservative circles, prominent voices – some of whom I call friends, all of whom I respect – continually find themselves divided on not only the issue, but also how people of conscience respond to it. In recent weeks, David Horowitz, president of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, and Robert Knight of Concerned Women for America, have been "duking it out" on the issue of whether or...
