In 1918, a popular song with the America’s World War I troops had these lyrics:“No matter their color, their race or creed, for every Yankee’s welfare, the K of C takes heed.”You read that right. Five decades before the Civil Rights movement, the organization mentioned in the song was the only charitable organization in World War I to offer integrated facilities to troops – something it did decades before the military itself was integrated. And when the Navy and Marine Corps themselves integrated in the late 1940s, it was a project led and championed by a former CEO of this organization.The...

For some reason, Democrats love to ask President Trump's judicial nominees about their religious backgrounds. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) was worried that U.S. district judge Peter Phipps, nominated to serve on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, would be no exception. So, he launched a preemptive strike at Wednesday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing and asked Phipps about his membership in the Knights of Columbus (KoC), a Catholic fraternal organization, and whether it has anything to do with his nomination. After all, Democrats have obsessed over the group in recent years. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) admitted to being puzzled such line...

...actually, "in service to some" - just "cradle Catholics": Converts need not apply, or buy insurance *** The Knights of Columbus made a clear choice when the organization decided to sponsor the faltering "Crux" -- founded by the Boston Globe for liberal journalist John Allen Jr (when the Globe thought it could cash in on Francis' supposed "popularity") and then, when it came into trouble, propped up by the Knights. The Knights' choice was to uphold the liberal and Modernist version of Catholicism in reporting news. For a few weeks now, Knights-Crux has been on a crusade to crush...

The Knights of Columbus, along with In Defense of Christians, released a comprehensive report Thursday documenting eyewitness accounts of Christians who have been killed, kidnapped, raped, or sold into slavery at the hands of ISIS. The report was presented to the State Department Wednesday. Knights of Columbus CEO Carl Anderson said at a National Press Club briefing that the evidence contained in the report as well as other evidence “fully support and, I suggest to you, compel the conclusion that a reasonable grounds exist to believe the crime of genocide has been committed against Christians in the region.”

The Knights of Columbus will provide an $8 million grant to The Catholic University of America (CUA) for the renovation of a prominent building on the university’s campus. The announcement was made April 28 by CUA president Father David M. O’Connell C.M., during the annual American Cardinals Dinner in Washington. The donation, which is the largest the Order has ever made to the university, will be used to renovate Keane Hall, a 35,000-square-foot limestone building located on CUA’s central mall. Built in 1958, the modern-classical structure was the university’s original physics research facility. Renovations are expected to last two years....
