Every sane person expects Green Party candidate Jill Stein's attempt to overturn the election with her vote recount effort to crash and burn. Given this, why would the Hillary Clinton campaign file a motion in support of a Stein-initiated request for a hand vote recount in Wisconsin? Under the reasonable assumption that what's good for the Clintons is good for the Clintons, one is left with but one conclusion. Hillary Clinton's political death is premature. After the election, Donald Trump analysts, having seen the Clintons pull a raft of rabbits out of a hat, should know better. There is no...

The day after one of the greatest political upsets in world history, I dug out my July 2016 exchange with "David," an Ohio left-wing retired law professor whom I once considered my best friend. He wrote: "Larry, "Donald Trump -- the screaming, the red face, the slashing hand gestures, the repeated appeals to familial blood spilled by outsiders, the vow to deport 3 percent of the American population. "The demonization of our present leaders as stupid, as weak, as corrupt, as criminals, as traitors, as not citizens, as not Christians. "The mischaracterization of our country as broken, as suffering, as...

Monday night's debate moderator, NBC's Lester Holt, asked Donald Trump why he "perpetuated a false claim that the nation's first black president was not a natural-born citizen." Hillary Clinton added that Trump "has a long record of engaging in racist behavior, and the birther lie was a very hurtful one." Trump defended himself by saying: "Sidney Blumenthal works for the campaign and (is a) close -- very close -- friend of Sec. Clinton. And her campaign manager, Patti Doyle ... during ... her campaign against President Obama, fought very hard. ... And if you look at CNN this past week,...

What a way to begin the Democratic National Committee's convention in Philadelphia. And where to start with the WikiLeaks leak of nearly 20,000 DNC emails? The emails by and between members of the DNC could us show that, no, Bernie Sanders was not paranoid when he insisted that DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and her organization, engineered and manipulated the campaign to ensure the victory of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The eruption by the Sanders supporters over her obvious bias forced Wasserman Shultz to tender her resignation a day before their convention opened, to be replaced by interim...

CPRC’s John Lott talked to Larry Elder on his national radio show about Australia’s gun buyback and discussed his testimony before the Australia Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs committee. They also talked about Hillary Clinton’s comparison of the gun buyback to Obama’s Cash for Clunkers program. (8:40 to 8:55 PM on Monday, May 2, 2016)

In a recent interview with Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, CNN's Jake Tapper said, "I would just ask, as a fellow American, if you could consider whether or not dialing down the temperature -- trying to bring down the temperature -- might be a healthier thing both for your campaign and for the nation at large." And PBS' Tavis Smiley -- who once said Ronald Reagan "tortured" blacks -- calls Trump a "religious and racial arsonist." If only Tapper and Smiley would urge liberals and Democrats to adhere to the same level of civility and probity they demand of Trump....

The media enthusiastically remind us that it's the first anniversary of the death of Ferguson's Michael Brown, a death that spawned the so-called Black Lives Matter movement. In a September speech at the United Nations, President Barack Obama said, "The world also took notice of the small American city of Ferguson, Missouri -- where a young man was killed, and a community was divided." Never mind that both a grand jury and the federal Department of Justice exonerated the officer who shot and killed Brown. Never mind that neither the physical evidence nor eyewitness testimony corroborated the assertions that Brown...

Larry Elder makes arrangements to return to L.A. radio, though it’s at night, on Salem’s conservative talk “870 the Answer” KRLA. Larry identifies as a libertarian and was previously heard in afternoons on Cumulus talker KABC/790. His current syndicated show airs noon-2pm Pacific on CRN Digital Talk Radio, and that’s the show that will clear on KRLA from 9-11pm, on a delayed basis. Elder also streams live on CRNTalk.com, LarryElder.com and ElderStatement.com. He announced the clearance on KRLA yesterday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. Larry continues to appear on Fox News and CNN. Syndicator CRN notes...

I wrote my latest book, "Dear Father, Dear Son: Two Lives, Eight Hours," to personalize the biggest issue facing the country -- the growing number of fatherless homes, particularly in the black community, where over 70 percent of children are born to unwed mothers. Being raised without a father is hard. One is more likely to drop out, be unemployed or end up in jail. But it's not a death sentence. The book is about what my father faced and overcame: Only child; irresponsible, illiterate mother; never met his biological father; born in Jim Crow South; kicked out of his...

Can someone explain why the “party of limited government” continues, with a straight face, to support ethanol? Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa says about the heavily subsided product, “Everything about ethanol is good, good, good.” Really? Really? Really? Supporters of ethanol — which we make from corn — say it reduces our dependence on foreign oil, is cheaper and aids the environment because it burns cleaner than non-blended fossil fuels. In 1996, The New York Times wrote: “At a time when Congress has been overhauling the nation’s systems of agricultural subsidies, and public officials across the country have considered...

Where's the Clint Eastwood Million Cowboy March on Hollywood? The case for bias against Eastwood is far stronger than that of the alleged "snub" of the movie "Selma." "American Sniper," a new film directed by Clint Eastwood, set box-office records for a film opening in January. Yet he was "shut out" of the director category. Was Clint Eastwood, a white, unabashed George W. Bush-supporting Republican, a victim of political discrimination? The Martin Luther King Jr. biopic received two Oscar nominations, one for "Best Picture." Cause for celebration? No, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences "unexpectedly" overlooked the film's...

In 2012, according to the CDC, 140 blacks were killed by police. That same year 386 whites were killed by police. Over the 13-year period from 1999 to 2011, the CDC reports that 2,151 whites were killed by cops -- and 1,130 blacks were killed by cops. Police shootings, nationwide, are down dramatically from what they were 20 or 30 years ago. The CDC reported that in 1968, shootings by law enforcement -- called "legal intervention" by the CDC -- was the cause of death for 8.6 out of every million blacks. For whites the rate was was .9 deaths...

The recent "rash" of police officers killing blacks is prompting "civil rights activists" to describe America -- despite the election and re-election of a black president -- as still a simmering caldron of racism. Never mind that according to the CDC, in 2012 (the most recent year with available data) 140 blacks were killed by cops -- versus 386 whites killed by cops. This dreary movie scene comes from a film about inner-city black teens called "Menace II Society." A black high school teacher speaks to two former students: "Being a black man in America isn't easy. The hunt is...

Is it relevant that St. Louis, near Ferguson, recently had the third-highest per capita murder rate of any large city (with 250,000 or more residents) in America, ranking behind New Orleans and Detroit? And, according to an analysis of 2011 FBI crime stats, St. Louis had the second-highest overall crime rate among large cities. Is it relevant that the state of Missouri ranks second among states in per capita black homicide victimization rate? According to the Violence Policy Center, only Nebraska has a higher per capita murder rate for black victims, based on 2011 FBI data. Last year, according to...

The popular Libertarian occupied the 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. time slot, which will now be filled by guest hosts. KABC, one of the largest AM radio stations in Los Angeles, has parted ways with Larry Elder, one of the channel's most popular talk-show hosts. The station, owned by Cumulus Media, declined to comment on Elder's departure, though insiders said advertising sales executives were blindsided by the decision and voiced their displeasure to a defensive Drew Hayes, KABC's operations director. Elder, a sometimes controversial, always passionate and eloquent Libertarian, had been with KABC for about 20 years, though separated into...

DON LEMON: Larry, I have to say this, I thought this was very interesting. You said not even an O.J. [Simpson] jury would convict Officer Wilson. I mean, should he at least be charged? LARRY ELDER: Well, I think he will be charged. I think Van is right. I think the politics will compel a charge, but I think the law and the facts will compel an acquittal.

Brooke Baldwin played an exasperated host to CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill and radio host Larry Elder, whose discussion over Barack Obama’s actions on the Ferguson protests quickly, quickly fell apart into them yelling past each other for the entire segment. It started off as two men taking two very different positions on the root causes of Ferguson: Hill argued that the debate should be centered on institutionalized racism in law enforcement, while Elder countered that the problem lay within the black community and the lack of paternal figures.
