As commander of the Duluth Combined Honor Guard, I have received a number of complaints, belligerent rants and slanderous remarks from our community after the guard posted the colors at the Tea Party rally Thursday in Bayfront Festival Park. The guard posted the colors during the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag and during the National Anthem. The responses I’ve received have been intolerable and unfounded. People really need to inform themselves about the intentions of our honor/color guard before becoming irrationally reactionary.
