Individuals living in New York City can choose from a minimum of 31 different gender identities, many of which allow them to fluctuate between some version or combination of male or female identities. Businesses that don’t respect and accommodate an individual’s chosen gender identity risk incurring six-figure fines under rules implemented by the city’s Commission on Human Rights. The list of protected gender identities is available online and includes options such as “gender bender,” “two spirit,” “third sex,” “androgynous,” “gender gifted,” and “pangender.” A city official speaking on background confirmed to The Daily Caller that all of the listed identities...

A new dating website is offering to pair Americans with Canadian singles to save them from a Donald Trump presidency. MapleMatch.com promises love and a U.S. escape plan if Trump becomes commander-in-chief. The website promises to “make dating great again,” parodying the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s slogan. “It’s easy to say, ‘This is just about Americans trying to find a way to get residency in Canada,” CEO Joe Goldman said in an interview. “I think ... many Americans may be frustrated by the community that they’re in or the dating pool they’ve had access to. “Why not seek something different?...

Animal rights activists circulated photos of the husband and wife team behind Cafe Gratitude and Gracias Madre eating a burger and keeping freezer full of beefThe California-based husband and wife founders of celebrity-endorsed vegan restaurant group Cafe Gratitude say they have received death threats after it was revealed last week that they are raising, slaughtering and eating animals on their farm north of San Francisco. Filmmaker Rob Reiner made headlines today by arguing that the rise of Donald Trump stems from racism in America and that the media has given him a pass. Reiner accused the media of going easy on Trump, saying that the billionaire businessman is only taken seriously as a political candidate because he is a celebrity. "The words that have been flung out from his mouth are insane!" Reiner said on MSNBC. "If he was not a celebrity - if Donald Trump was not a celebrity … you'd see a guy in a park, a lunatic in a park on a...

The Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs is eschewing the terms “felon” and “convict” when officials refer to individuals convicted of crimes, opting instead for less “disparaging labels,” Assistant Attorney General Karol Mason announced Wednesday. The Office of Justice Programs plans to substitute terminology such as “person who committed a crime” and “individual who was incarcerated” in speeches and other communications as part of an effort to remove barriers that officials say hinder progress of those who re-enter society after completing their prison sentences. “I have come to believe that we have a responsibility to reduce not only the physical...

Not only would Donald Trump not mind if certain celebrities were to flee the United States if he is elected president, the Republican front-runner said Tuesday that their opposition to his candidacy only increases his will to win. During a telephone interview with "Fox & Friends," Trump was asked about a tweet from Lena Dunham on Monday in which she vowed to leave the U.S. for Vancouver if he is elected. Trump's response: "Well, she's a B-actor. You know, she has no — you know, no mojo."

“I’m a very spiritual person and I’m really open to learning,” the Catholic-born actress told The Sun on her conversion to Islam. Lohan, 29, who was spotted carrying a copy of the Koran while tending to her community service in New York last summer, also said there’s more to the text than what many people have been led to believe. And you can totally trust Lindsay when it comes to the Koran because it’s not like she’s walking around preaching about it without even reading the whole thing. Who does that? “I’m not done reading it. Do you know how...

Bernie Sanders just won a game-changing endorsement with weeks to go before the first primary ballots are cast. MoveOn, the 17-year-old progressive advocacy group with hundreds of thousands of members nationwide, just overwhelmingly endorsed the Vermont senator's presidential campaign. The endorsement race wasn't even close -- Sanders won 79 percent of the vote with over 340,000 ballots cast. "This is a massive vote in favor of Bernie Sanders, showing that grassroots progressives across the country are excited and inspired by his message and track record of standing up to big money and corporate interests to reclaim our democracy for the...

I started with a simple enough question: how do I watch the October 13 Democratic debate on CNN? And I wound up learning the answer to so many more questions I didn't know I had. Among those answers: Cheryl Crow, virtual reality, Las Vegas, and maybe Joe Biden or maybe not. Crazily, CNN itself seems to be offering no information about whether they will livestream the debate, as they did with the Republicans last month, or whether they'll shunt it over to cable-only like Fox did with their debate. Mashable is the only site reporting that CNN will be livestreaming...

Left-wing American shock jock Thom Hartmann – UK readers: think Lenin without the charm, wit or lightness of touch – has told his listeners that “climate change deniers should be in prison.â€â€œYou are paid to lie to people†he told skeptic Paul Driessen on his radio show.“I am talking about racketeering, organized crime. I am calling you a criminal†said Hartmann, warming to his theme. “You are killing people…You have five million climate refugees…Dead children, your responsibility….It’s all the consequence of climate change.†Well I’ve been on Hartmann’s show myself and I know that gibbering hysteria is how he rolls....

The victim culture in this country has been turning out countless numbers of indignant sufferers who can cry out their personal brand of injustice with the convincing wail of a child that dropped their ice cream scoop onto the sidewalk. These martyrs have gotten so good that they could start their own professional league. It’s practically a spectator sport as it is. You hardly ever know in advance who you’re going to offend or the reason why. Then suddenly someone leaps out, having identified their target of opportunity, and then delivers their war cry: “That’s offensive!” And for some reason...

Foul Language Warning: If you continue to read on, you may be offended by words that start with F and A. They are not my words, but words spoken by Rosie O’Donnell. Jackie Willis reports for CBS News, Aug. 14, 2015, that lesbian actress-comedienne Rosie O’Donnell was on SiriusXM’s radio program. She ranted to host Jenny Hutt that women’s rights are under attack in America and that politicians are undoing all the advances abortion activists have made. Democratic lawmakers have introduced legislation to authorize $60 million in taxpayer money to go to the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) for research on gun violence prevention. The measure, introduced last week, would give $10 million a year “for each of fiscal years 2016 through 2021 for the purpose of conducting or supporting research on firearms safety or gun violence prevention under the Public Health Service Act.” “The epidemic of gun violence in America is not preordained, it is preventable,” Senator Edward Markey (D-Mass.) says in a press release. “In the 21st century, we should use research and advances in...

Madison Moore, who received his PhD from Yale in 2012 and taught a class about "clubbing" in 2011, believes that if you do not find people of color attractive, you are a "sexual racist." In an article titled "Here’s A Fascinating Survey About Sexual Racism Every Gay Guy Needs To Read," Moore details the damaging effects of not finding black men sexually attractive. He begins by explaining that he's written articles on "gay sex, race and racism." In response he has received a backlash, including one email in which a reader said, “You’re just mad because you’re black and ugly...

A precautionary lockdown of the U.S. Capitol was lifted after about two hours Saturday following a suicide by a man carrying a sign demanding taxes for the '1%'. The man died after shooting himself on the west front of the Capitol building just after 1 p.m., Capitol Police spokeswoman Kimberly Schneider said. No one else was hurt. Capitol Police Chief Kim Dine said the man had a backpack and a rolling suitcase, triggering an hours-long lockdown, and a sign that said something about 'social justice.'

The Nation’s Dave Zirin (the same journalist who brought us the genius idea that not cheering for the Seattle Seahawks is racist) wrote a post-Super Bowl column attributing the Seattle Seahawks’ horrible decision to throw a pass on the one-yard line in the final seconds of the game was due to “the politics of race” and an anti-Marshawn Lynch conspiracy. (VIDEO: Patriots And Seahawks Fans React To Malcolm Butler’s Interception) The theory, as relayed by Zirin, is that Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll called a pass because he wanted the young, clean-cut quarterback Russell Wilson to be seen as the...
