<p>The Rev. Louis E. Miller admitted publicly for the first time yesterday that he sexually abused children while assigned to parishes in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville.</p> <p>Appearing in Jefferson Circuit Court on a day when his trial on abuse charges was to begin, Miller, 72, pleaded guilty to 44 charges of indecent or immoral acts with another and six charges of firstdegree sex abuse, stemming from acts against 21 children between 1957 and 1982.</p>

It was a beautiful sunny day in south Metro Louisville at the Millcreek VFW Post #5421 as nearly 800 people showed up to rally for America and to support our fighting men and women. Taking an idea from Trteamer of the great Colorado Chapter of FR I conducted a one man "Support our Troops" rally at the front gate of the KY Air National Guard complex at Louisville Intl. In Louisville, KY local businessman Ted Jackson has launched a billboard campaign to show support for President Bush and our Troops. The first billboard was put up a few days ago on Interstate 65 in downtown Louisville and is seen by thousands of people every day. He is encouraging individuals and groups around the country to continue this billboard campaign in other cities and is offering the artwork for free. <p>On Thursday night, in a rare exception to the anti-American folderol coming out of city councils across the country, the Louisville Metro Council voted 17-9 for passage of a Resolution to Support our Troops. The make up of the council is 15 Democrats and 11 Republicans. Six Democrats crossed party lines to vote for the Resolution with the entire Republican Caucus.</p>

Through the years, some students and faculty expressed unease about the monument's presence near the heart of Belknap campus, said Larry Owsley, U of L vice president for finance and administration. The university also decided Monday to remove the name Confederate Place from a one-block street near the Confederate monument and rename it Unity Place, effective Jan. 1, Mr. Owsley said.
