It’s comfort food — in a cone. A limited-edition macaroni and cheese-flavored ice cream hit freezers nationwide this week, Brooklyn-based ice cream maker Van Leeuwen and Kraft Heinz announced. The cheesy frozen treat went on sale for $12 a pint on Wednesday, marking National Macaroni & Cheese Day, the companies said. It will be available for purchase in Van Leeuwen’s stores across the country as well as online while supplies last. The companies described the ice cream as a "cool, creamy scoop of ice cream that brings that comforting, nostalgic feeling from a warm bowl of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese."...

This is the last year that the original version of Kraft Mac & Cheese sold in the U.S. will contain artificial preservatives or synthetic colors. In January, Kraft says its macaroni and cheese will be colored using paprika, annatto and turmeric. WATERVILLE, Wash. — An argument over butter in a macaroni and cheese recipe churned into violence between a brother and sister. A 21-year-old man called police June 6 to say his 17-year-old sister tried to cut his neck with the serrated edge of a spatula. The police report said the sister was making macaroni and cheese when her brother asked if she was using butter. That led to an argument over the difference between butter and margarine. And, then butter battle escalated. The Wenatchee World reported the girl was charged in Douglas County Superior Court with fourth-degree assault.
