Cam Edwards interviewed Professor Michael Krauss from the George Mason University School of Law yesterday regarding the Woollard decision. Professor Krauss says that the District Court rendered the correct decision in this case and that he thinks it will stand up on appeal.

Monday’s big win for gun rights in Maryland – courtesy a lawsuit filed by the Bellevue-based Second Amendment Foundation on behalf of Maryland resident Raymond Woollard – is already being demonized by anti-gunners, and will likely be appealed by the State Attorney General. The case is Woollard v. Sheridan. It was admittedly a big win for SAF, which has in the neighborhood of 20-plus cases in progress challenging onerous gun laws on constitutional grounds. Earlier today, Maryland federal district Benson Everett Legg decided the case of Woollard v. Sheridan. Plaintiffs on the case are Robert Woollard and the Second Amendment Foundation. The lead attorney for plaintiffs is Alan Gura, the winning attorney in D.C. v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago. Religious and community leaders gathered outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices in Baltimore to protest the looming deportation of a Mexican woman who has four grandchildren in the United States. Josefina Rodriguez Vega, a 58-year-old undocumented immigrant living in Hagerstown, Maryland, was arrested last June for driving without a license and turned over to ICE. After several months under house arrest, Rodriguez Vega was taken last Thursday to an ICE detention center on Maryland's Eastern Shore, far from her home. With the legal options all but exhausted, she now faces imminent deportation to Mexico.

CASCADE, Md. -- Maryland fire investigators said a Washington County man was charged after a fake hand grenade was found in his apartment. The Maryland fire marshal's office said 58-year-old Philip Charles Taylor was charged Tuesday with manufacture of a phony destructive device and possession of a phony destructive device. One person was arrested and nineteen were transported to hospitals after a woman poured bleach and Pine-Sol on a fellow customer at a Wal-Mart in Arbutus.
