Friday’s announcement of a new list of counties soon going to the “yellow” phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s gradual reopening plan for Pennsylvania’s economy came and went and yet again, Mifflin and Juniata counties found themselves left off it. This latest group of counties is concentrated in the southwestern portion of the state — the closest to us going yellow in this group is Blair — and even includes Allegheny County, which is home to Pittsburgh, the state’s second-largest city. How exactly is a major metropolitan area and population center like Pittsburgh more ready to go yellow than rural Mifflin...

Mayor Michael B. Coleman received national exposure as a Democratic candidate for governor on shock-jock radio Wednesday. It’s a venue he would have preferred to avoid, the mayor admitted later. "It didn’t end up well." But Coleman said he "just couldn’t bite my tongue" any longer after what he characterized as three days of bullying and "blasting the city" by conservative talk-radio host Glenn Beck. Even though Coleman was less than his rhetorical best during the chaotic eight-minute exchange with Beck, he said, "I’ll never be regretful of standing up to those who are not telling the truth, who misrepresent...

I have not been able to find anything on this on websites, but did anyone listen to Glenn Beck today? He called out Columbus Mayor Mike Coleman for the handling of the horrible incident at Mifflin High School in Columbus. Coleman, was committed to go on the air with Beck but he stiffed him and then Beck had a guy pretending he was Coleman call in. This part was hilarious. Coleman finally called in at the end and you could tell he was livid. Coleman was evading answers and Beck had a tough time getting questions past Coleman's interruptions. Beck...

But principals didn't immediately notify police for fear of media attention, in violation of state law. When the girl's...

This past March in Columbus Ohio a disabled 16 year old girl was sexually assulted at Mifflin High School by a group of boys. They beat her, stripped her naked, and video taped the incident while others watched as it happened. This occurred while school was in session in the school's auditorium. When the girl was finally brought to safety, a school official named Richard Watson did not want to call the authorities because it would attract unwanted media attention. The father of the disabled girl was not called until a considerable amount of time had passed after the incident was reported. The principle (Ms Crenshaw) has been fired for...
