Lemon? While opining on air about rapper Kanye West’s brotherly embracing of Trump in a videotaped Oval Office visit, Lemon said this: “I have no animosity for Kanye West. I’m just going to be honest and I may get in a lot of trouble for it. I actually feel bad for him. What I saw was a minstrel show today. Him in front of all these white people, mostly white people, embarrassing himself and embarrassing Americans, but mostly African-Americans, because every one of them is sitting either at home or with their phones, watching this, cringing. … Kanye needs help....

I joined FR on 8 October 2000. On the 14th I made my first contribution and coined the phrase, "Broken Glass Republican" at the same time. (See the link above)(A thank you to the Wayback Machine for archiving the post. JimRob says the FR database has been corrupted.) The term was picked up by Byron York who got it from his sister, a FReeper, over dinner and published in National Review. Peggy Noonan then used it in her article The Meaning of the Vote Democracy is a blessing--especially for "Broken Glass Republicans". It was also used repeatedly by Rush on...

Okay long time freepers, I need some help it it will come from someone that has been here at least 6 years. There was a list graphic on a thread that showed approx. 15 congressmen and it had on it each pol's Net worth when elected and Net worth after 4+ years. It was a staggering list that showed you just how much money gets paid to our supposed servants that serve us. On top of the list was a congress woman (this is no lie) who came in with a net worth in just 6 figures and I believe...
  • I'M VOTING REPUBLICAN IN THE 2018 MIDTERMS! CHANGE MY MIND!

I'm voting Republican in the November 2018 election. Change my mind. I hope the trolls and even the honest liberals on this board will take their best shot and convince me why voting democrat would be in my best interest and America's interest. How will I benefit, how will America benefit? I hope that Freepers spread this simple message to other boards and amongst their family and friends. I believe that it will cause lefties to reflect on just what it is that they stand for. I really think/hope this could change a few people's minds to vote Republican.

Does he have chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), the degenerative disease believed to be caused by repeated blows to the head? Murphy’s biggest contract came in 1996 when he signed a three-year, $10-million deal to join the St. Louis Blues. “If I loved it, I would have kept it,” Murphy says of his money. “But I didn’t love it.” Murphy offers few specifics. “Well, how I lost it,” he says. “Forty percent went to taxes. Gone. After my taxes, I gotta pay my agent. Then, I got divorced. Then, I got payments. I made an investment — boom! It was like...

Wednesday, October 10, 2018 Republicans are madder about the Kavanaugh controversy than Democrats are and more determined to vote in the upcoming elections because of it. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 54% of all Likely U.S. Voters say they are more likely to vote in the upcoming midterm elections because of the controversy surrounding President Trump’s U.S. Supreme Court nominee. Only nine percent (9%) say they are less likely to vote. Thirty-four percent (34%) say the controversy will have no impact on their vote. (To see survey question wording, click here.) • The "Equality Institute" Says We Shouldn't Use The Word "Pregnant Women" Anymore

This is why the left will keep on losing. The "Equality Institute" Twitter page says we need to be more inclusive and stop using the term "pregnant women" and use "pregnant people" instead because men can get pregnant too. "People of all genders can fall pregnant, because people of all genders can have the reproductive organs to do so. Consider all people - including trans & non-binary folk - & ensure that your language is inclusive of everyone," says the group. So aside from the obvious problem with this, there's another, more subtle problem: The group claims people "fall" pregnant?...

I received letter from Xerox yesterday (10/09/2018) informing me they are canceling my retirement benefits (and not just me but many other retirees too) which are; Medical, Dental, Prescription Drugs, and my Life Insurance. I worked for Xerox 31 years with the goal in mind that I would have these benefits after I retired. I did, but now, when I need them the most they take them away from me. I was a Senior Engineering Technician in Corporate Research & Technology, in Webster, NY. Let this be a WARNING to people who are considering employment there.

WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Wednesday that “nobody’s going to beat” Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska despite her opposition to Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination. In an interview with The Associated Press, McConnell disputed President Donald Trump’s prediction that Alaskans “will never forgive” Murkowski and that she’ll “never recover” politically after bucking her party on Kavanaugh. Murkowski voted against advancing Kavanaugh’s nomination and “present” on the final vote. “She’s certainly going to recover,” McConnell said. He pointed out that Murkowski won re-election as a write-in vote in 2010. “She’s about as strong as you can possibly...

Barack Obama said, and I quote, "Elections have consequences.". Those are the words out of the man's own mouth. And, he effected his agenda. Americans responded. We voted. We want OUR agenda effected. But wait, Democrats don't believe in the the voting procedure established in this country anymore. Suddenly, the Presidential elections are not valid...suddenly, the nomination and selection of a Supreme Court justice is not valid...suddenly, but not so suddenly, we have an attempted coup taking place and the Justice Department is not doing a damn thing about it (excuse my language). This has gone too far. We have...

Snip: I asked myself a question, after reading these posts: “Is there an alternative to confirming or not confirming Kavanaugh?” When a choice appears starkly binary, a third path appears impossible, by definition — but might possibly still be worth seeking. I tried to place myself in Kavanaugh’s position, while generating a potential answer (and think that I can do so with some justification, having been publicly identified as reprehensible by many people—prominent journalists, activists, and academics among them). Snip: Having said all that, I would like also like to point out that I am not claiming that the opinion...

I'm not a FL resident so I'm not 100% up to speed with the Governor's race and the Senate race. As far as I know right now, Scott is leading Nelson by a few points and DeSantis is down 5 pts or so. Last month there had been a "disagreement" when President Trump indicated that the Puerto Rican death toll from hurricane Maria had been inflated by the Democrats in order to make it look "as bad as possible" and that both Scott and DeSantis publicly expressed their disagreement with Trump and indicated that they both "stood with the Puerto...

The Royal Bank of Canada accidentally seized a Subaru WRX STI from a Vancouver man, despite the fact he’d never interacted with the bank before. Tage Kendall had his 2006 Subaru Impreza repossessed even though the car was fully paid off and properly titled in his name, reports the CBC. He did not purchase the car with a loan from RBC, and hasn’t dealt with the bank before. That’s why he thought it odd that, in June of 2018, he received a Facebook message from a collection company saying his car was about to be repossessed. He replied that they...

It appears that Republican leaders finally enjoy winning. The ironic part is that President Trump taught them how to win, and how to use gumption. The last few weeks have been historic during the confirmation process of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Democrats could not find a credible reason to disqualify him from becoming an associate justice of the Supreme Court. Instead of accepting their fate, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee Diane Feinstein (D-CA) promoted a leaked letter accusing Kavanaugh of sexual assault against Christine Ford in 1982 when he was 17 years old, and she was 15...
