Louisiana and a national left-leaning political group may be headed to court over a Baton Rouge area billboard that criticizes Gov. Bobby Jindal. Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne sent a cease-and-desist order to MoveOn on Thursday, asking the advocacy organization to take down a billboard along Interstate 10 that parodies Louisiana’s “Pick your Passion” tourism slogan. The billboard, which mentions Jindal by name, is critical of the governor and legislators’ decision not to expand the state Medicaid program under federal health care reform. “LOU!SIANA Pick your passion! But hope you don’t love your health. Gov. Jindal’s denying Medicaid to 242,000 people,”...

The liberal MoveOn.org is fundraising off the botched Obamacare roll out, calling on supporters to pitch in to help stave off Republican attacks on the floundering law. In an email to supporters Thursday evening, MoveOn.org explained that President Obama’s signature health care law “is now in real trouble” because of its roll out fumbles. “There’s no sugar-coating it: Obamacare is in serious political trouble,” the email reads. “And progressives need to step up and start fighting to save it right now.”

Moveon.org has started an internet petition to encourage the Department of Just Us to bring civil rights charges against George Zimmerman. The petition comes in the aftermath of his acquittal by a jury of six in Seminole County, FL just last night. In the lead up to the original Florida charges against Zimmerman, over 2 million people signed an internet petition to bring murder charges against him. Mob justice in action, it seems. I have not included the link because when I try to put it in, FR says Moveon.org links are not allowed at FR.

MoveOn.org is out with a four-minute video that’s been showing up on the interwebz, most notably Facebook, with this enticing title: “This video MIGHT stop Romney from becoming president.” In the video, two GenXers reveal to you with cheerful sincerity the GOP’s three-pronged strategy to get Mitt Romney elected president, and, as you can well imagine, it’s all part of a dire “racist” plot funded by the Koch Brothers. I exaggerate….but nowhere near as much as the video does.If you can stand to watch it, it’s below, but here’s a summary of their major “prongs:”Prong 1:The GOP has been sabotaging...

Fellow Patriots, This is an urgent call for your help. No, we're not looking for money - this is far more important than a financial donation. We have just found out that MoveOn.org is planning on crashing one of our Chapter meetings this coming Wednesday. They are bringing the battle to our turf, and we damn well better be prepared to defend it. This is only the beginning of the attacks the Tea Party movement will be experiencing as we move forward. MoveOn and other progressive organizations understand that the Tea Party was the only reason the recent debt ceiling...

The Hockey Mom from Wasilla as the Boogie Woman. Jeffrey Feldman, referring to the Olivia Wilde video recently posted by Moveon.org, thinks he has found the perfect slogan to motivate Democrats and perhaps save Barack Obama from the "refudiation" he is about to get at the polls. President Palin! "A 'Hail Mary!' pass? Who cares. I found myself laughing and nodding in agreement all the way through the video. "'President Palin' works and it is not hard to explain why. "One would be hard-pressed to think of a cold slap in the face that stings Democrats more than the prospect...

Olivia Wilde has seen the future, and if you don't vote, it's "terrifying." The stunning "House" star gets political in a new video for MoveOn.org called "Back From the Future," aimed at increasing voter turnout by showing what will happen if Democrats don't hit the polls. It starts with a mock newscast to show just how bad things have gotten in the future. "Pamela Anderson announced today that she and MTV 'Jersey Shore' star The Situation will be getting married in early November," a news anchor reports. "We'll be devoting all our resources to this story, even taking reporters off...

MoveOn.org is up with a new TV spot urging President Obama to ban any new offshore drilling in the wake of the BP disaster. Obama had previously opened new coastal areas to drilling, but announced last week that any new leases will only be approved after a thorough investigation of what went wrong in the Gulf of Mexico. "President Obama, will you lead our country into a clean energy future, or will we see more of this?" the MoveOn narrator asks, before showing images of the BP spill.

The free-for-all House race in New York’s 23rd district has turned into a nationally watched referendum on the state and direction of the national GOP — and now the heavy-hitting left is entering the race, with MoveOn warning its massive membership that the right-wing candidate must be defeated in order to weaken the “Palin wing of the Republican party.” The race — a three-way contest between conservative Douglas Hoffman, moderate GOPer Dede Scozzafava, and Dem Bill Owens — has drawn the attention of Palin and other big name conservatives who hope a Hoffman victory will boost their influence within the...

DIRTY TOOLS As Obama operatives scour records in Alaska for dirt on Gov. Sarah Palin, they are also seeking embarrassing materials about her husband. And it isn't just the Obama campaign. Several left-wing groups with ties to MoveOn.org have used their network to offer as to $5,000 for damaging employment or personal information about him. Meanwhile, the Obama campaign has asked the DNC to coordinate surrogates that appear on camera to attack Gov. Palin. "Last Friday, the Democrat women they put all looked old and tired, nothing like what folks were seeing from Palin," says an Obama media adviser. "It...

(CNN) – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's political action committee is confirming a flood of new donations that push her cash haul close to the million-dollar mark, as one of the nation's largest liberal PACs announced an ad targeting the former GOP vice presidential candidate. Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton confirmed a report in the Anchorage Daily News that more than $200,000 had poured into SarahPAC since Palin's announcement a week and a half ago that she would be leaving office by the end of the month. Those funds, along with $732,867 received through June 30 according to federal campaign finance filings,...

Dear MoveOn member, President Obama only needs 50 votes in the Senate to pass his visionary, progressive budget. There are 58 Democrats and Independents in the Senate, so it should be gliding through no problem, right? Wrong. While most Democrats are supporting the president's agenda, some are wavering. They're backing away from key reforms—like making polluters pay to address global warming1 and rolling back the Bush tax cuts for the richest Americans.2 They're even asking for compromises on major health care reform.3 They've been getting tons and tons of pressure from lobbyists for the big corporate interests—and key Democrats may...

MoveOn.org tried to stage one of their pitiful made-for-the-evening-news events here in Rochester. Their goal? Blame Bush, McCain and the GOP for high gas prices. The Olmsted County GOP caught wind of it and within 48 hours staged one of the most fun coups ever. MoveOn activist Lyle (didn't catch the last name) was befuddled by the strong GOP counter-protest for drilling domestic oil. On the KTTC six o'clock news broadcast he could do no more than stutter when asked if he knew that there was going to be a counterpoint to his protest. He did manage to claim that...

IT'S EARLY IN THE presidential campaign to be getting all het up about outrageous ads that distort records or enflame passions. But a recent commercial sponsored by Moveon.org and AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) has lit a fuse with me, maybe in part because it deals with military service, and I have a son who will be commissioned into the Air Force in a year. In this ad, a young mother sits on the floor with her son Alex, whom she introduces to the viewing audience in general and John McCain in particular. In the tender,...
