November 16, 2007, 0:00 p.m. SmileWhat all celebs can learn from O. J. Simpson. By Michael Long O.J. Simpson has learned at least one thing in the 13 years between his arrests: When they take your mug shot, smile. The mug shot is the ignominious I.D., captured at a moment when the subject is, all at once, shamed, humbled, frustrated, fearful, and usually at a record low of dishevelment. The mug shot is supposed to be just a bureaucratic record. In practice, however, it is punishment for being a suspect at all. Say what you want about “innocent until...

TAMPA, Fla. -- Amanda Lynn Bailey's T-shirt said it all. When the 41-year-old got picked up on DUI charges she was wearing a shirt that read: "I'm not an alcoholic, I'm a drunk. Alcoholics go to meetings." The T-shirt was captured in her mug shot. Bailey, of Riverview, was arrested Tuesday and charged with driving under the influence and driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license. She posted $750 bond and was released. She also was arrested in April on DUI charges. Police did not capture any T-shirt messages in that mug shot. A telephone listing for Bailey could...

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The mug shot of Orlando's mayor could be coming to a billboard near you. Someone mailed postcards criticizing Mayor Buddy Dyer and promised to put the same message on ten, 40-foot billboards around the city. A spokesman for Mayor Buddy Dyer said he had not seen this postcard until Channel 9 started asking questions about it. Each of his fellow commissioners received one in the mail with a small clue about the motivation behind it. The message couldn't be any bolder, but it's the small print that gives the most information. Tucked beneath Dyer's mug shot from...

Dems Complain About DeLay's Smiling Mug Shot By Susan Jones CNSNews.com Senior Editor October 21, 2005 (CNSNews.com) -- There it is, front and center on the Democratic National Committee's webpage: a full-color mug shot of Rep. Tom DeLay, not bad as mug shots go, with the caption, "DeLay Booked." The Texas Republican is smiling, dressed in a suit and wearing his House pin. Unlike most mug shots, the photograph being circulated on the Internet does not include written information at the bottom, so it looks more like an ordinary snapshot than a mug shot. That bothers many of the bloggers...

JULY 21--Meet Patrick Tribett. The Ohio man was nabbed yesterday morning for "abusing harmful intoxicants" as he attempted to make a purchase at Bellaire's Dollar General Store. The 41-year-old Tribett, it seems, had been huffing spray paint and needed a refill. According to a Bellaire Police Department report, Tribett's pupils were constricted and he replied slowly to their questions. Oh, and "officers observed the paint on face and hands," as can be seen in the below mug shot. Tribett, who was previously busted for assault, domestic violence, and inhaling harmful intoxicants, was booked into the Belmont County Sheriff's Office...
