A man was beaten to death by the boyfriend of a woman who falsely claimed he raped her in a Fairbanks, Alaska motel room on Wednesday. The woman, 31-year-old Dominique Vasquez, reportedly did not want to admit to her boyfriend, 39-year-old Abraham Stine, that she had cheated on him and so lied about the rape, according to Alaska Dispatch News. Chicago was pushed into an unwanted spotlight earlier this year when it was noted the city has recorded more murders than New York City and Los Angeles combined. As the year winds down, that’s still holding true. The city surpassed 700 homicides over the weekend, according to a Chicago Sun-Times analysis of Cook County medical examiner’s records. Cincinnati, OH — Since October 28, 2016, city sewer vehicles have been seen outside the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. First, Roto-Rooter was called out, but the problem seemed to be beyond their ability to solve. Next came the city sewer trucks, which put equipment down a manhole across the street from Planned Parenthood. On November 10, another vehicle from the city sewer department was called out. A former teacher who made national news nearly two decades ago when she tried to retain her job at a Sacramento-area high school while transitioning from male to female has been charged in an Oakland triple homicide. Dana Rivers, 61, of San Jose was arrested early Friday in Oakland on suspicion of killing Patricia Wright, 57; Wright’s wife, Charlotte Reed, 56; and the couple’s 19-year-old son, Toto Diambu-Wright. HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A little girl is dead and her mother and young sister were critically injured after they were shot during an attempted robbery in north Harris County, according to deputies. This all started around 8:40pm as a 27-year-old woman was carrying groceries to her apartment alongside her 10-year-old and 4-year-old daughters. Investigators said at least two men in a dark-colored sedan pulled up next to them and got out. The men reportedly asked for the woman's purse, but she refused. That's when deputies believe one of the men shot the mother and her two children at close range.

A southwest Florida man has been indicted on charges related to the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl and her mother's roommate 26 years ago. The News Press reports that a grand jury formally charged 54-year-old Joseph Zieler on Thursday with two counts of first-degree murder. He also faces sexual battery and burglary charges. Authorities say the bodies of 11-year-old Robin Cornell and 32-year-old Lisa Story were found in a Cape Coral apartment in May 1990. A Saudi citizen in his thirties has decapitated his 17-year-old brother in Jeddah using a cleaver in what residents are calling one of the most horrifying murders in recent years. Spokesperson of the Makkah police department Col. Dr. Aati al-Qurshi confirmed that police in Jeddah are currently investigating the murder that took place in the early hours of Saturday. Qurshi also confirmed that the offender, who has not been named by authorities yet, has a drug-related criminal history and is said to be mentally unstable. Investigators with cadaver dogs prepared themselves Friday for the possibility of more grisly discoveries near where a missing woman was rescued from a large storage container. Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright told reporters that cadaver dogs have signaled possible remains near where the woman was found. He says deputies will excavate the area. The missing woman was found Thursday "chained up like a dog" inside the container measuring about 30 feet by 15 feet. Wright says she told him the bodies of other women could be buried on the land, owned by 45-year-old Todd Christopher Kohlhepp.

A former Woodstock, Ont., nurse killed eight elderly patients in southwestern Ontario nursing homes, Ontario Provincial Police allege. Elizabeth Tracy Mae Wettlaufer, 49, is facing eight counts of first-degree murder in deaths between August 2007 and August 2014, police said during a Tuesday morning news conference in Woodstock. The victims were between the ages of 75 and 96. Police would not say how they died, except that seven were administered a fatal dose of a drug.

A ceremony was held Saturday to dedicate a new gravestone for a 7-year-old Michigan boy whose brutal killing more than 80 years ago remains unsolved. Richard Streicher Jr. was murdered in March 1935 in Ypsilanti and his grave in a town cemetery was never marked due to the notoriety of the crime, the Ann Arbor News reports. A beloved peewee football coach walking to his car after practice was gunned down execution-style in front of his horrified team, according to reports Friday. Dave Williams told a group of children to run when he saw men with guns walking towards him at Mills Pond Park in Fort Lauderdale Thursday night, WPLG-TV reported.
