A hero guard was shot today as he stopped a gunman from entering the Family Research Council in Washington DC. The shooting is being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism. Family Research Council is a Christian, conservative based organization. Fox News reports that witnesses say the shooter was speaking out against the Family Research Council's Pro-Life, Pro-Family agenda as he tried to enter the building. ...Presumed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney reacted quickly, long before most cable news networks even reported the crime, releasing a statement condemning the act. The Human Rights Council, which just a day ago labeled the FRC a “hate group” for its traditional values, even tweeted that its hearts went out to the FRC. But a look at President Obama’s twitter timeline shows no reaction to the attack at all.

The shooter entered the building at 801 G Street NW at around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. He approached the front desk and said he was an intern before pulling a Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun from a backpack. The guard confronted him, and they had an altercation before the shooter fired, striking the guard in the arm. Despite his injury, he gained control of the weapon and held it on the suspect. Authorities found two loaded magazines with 15 rounds each in the suspect's backpack, as well as Chik-Fil-A promotional materials, NBC4's Jackie Bensen reported.
