(ChurchMilitant.com) - The president of Notre Dame has pushed back against calls to block access to pornography on the campus wifi. In October last year, a group of around 80 male Notre Dame students called for a campus-wide porn filter in a letter to the editor in student-run newspaper The Observer. The open letter noted that an online petition supporting the cause already had about 1,000 signatures from students, faculty and staff. Enough Is Enough (EIE), a group promoting...

Republican Rep. Kevin Cramer is projected to unseat Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, according to the Fox News Decision Desk.

North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp raised $12.4 million during the first two-and-a-half weeks of October, a new disclosure showed, a spike in fundraising that coincided with the Democrat’s high-profile decision to vote against Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Heitkamp’s haul in that short period was more than three times what the senator had raised during the previous fundraising quarter, when she brought in $3.7 million over three months.

As Twitchy told you last night, a group of women outed as sexual assault survivors (in some cases incorrectly) in a campaign ad for Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp are currently exploring legal action. With good reason. What Heitkamp’s campaign did isn’t just reckless and outrageous; it’s also potentially very dangerous. At least one woman outed in the ad is now reportedly fearing for her life:

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's incendiary suggestion this week that liberals "cannot be civil" with Republicans any longer is unproductive and simply "ridiculous," a top Democratic senator said Wednesday. The stark repudiation of Clinton's comments by Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., a vulnerable red-state Democrat seeking re-election this year, comes as top Republicans have lined up in recent days to criticize Democrats' fiery rhetoric amid the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

The new NBC News-Wall Street Journal survey, taken six weeks before Americans head to the polls, shows Democrats leading Republicans by 52 percent to 40 percent for control of Congress. If it holds, that 12 percentage point margin would suggest a "blue wave" large enough to switch control of not just the House but also the Senate.

Do blind people have Second Amendment rights? Of course, they do. Should they be prevented from carrying guns for self-defense? No, they should be subject to the same laws as other people. Carey McWilliams has demonstrated, through word and deed, that blind people are fully capable of responsible self-defense and responsible use of guns. It is a disability, not a death sentence. From postbullitin.com: The blind guy with a gun permit became a minor celebrity who made national and international news in 2001, even getting a segment on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” that showed him firing an assault...

South Dakota passed Constitutional Carry in the 2017 Legislative session. The legislation allowed people who had North Dakota drivers licenses or nondriver identification cards to carry concealed weapons, thus becoming a practical Constitutional Carry state. However, another provision of North Dakota law prohibits most people from carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle. State legislators asked the Attorney General if the Constitutional Carry provision applied to carrying a loaded firearm in vehicles. He wrote an official opinion stating that it did so apply. Here are the relevant conclusions. From nd.gov: Thus, even though a concealed weapons license is no...

The American Indian tribe arguing the Dakota Access Pipeline would leak oil in its water source finalized a years-long plan to move its water source 70 miles downstream of the project. The Standing Rock Sioux tribe orchestrated a months-long battle against the pipeline due in large part to worries about contamination of their primary water source. The decision to plant a water treatment plant several miles downwind of the pipeline’s location, environmental analysts argue, may dispel concerns associated with the project. The relocation was years in the making. Standing Rock currently gets its water 20 miles away from the so-called...

North Dakota will select its delegates to the Republican National Convention this weekend, but the party won’t be asking any actual voters to help do it. Instead, state party officials are relying on the ultimate insider process, one that tilts the playing field toward a party-backed candidate like Ted Cruz — and puts Donald Trump at a deep disadvantage. An estimated 2,000 party officials and activists convene at the state party's convention in Fargo this weekend to pick 25 delegates to send to the convention in July. But unlike other delegates, North Dakota’s will be free to vote for whichever...

The state party scrapped its traditional caucus after a conflict with the national Republican Party. BISMARCK, ND — A rule conflict between North Dakota’s Republican party and the national GOP organization has effectively scrapped the state’s caucuses, planned for March 1. Instead, an online straw poll is taking the pulse of North Dakotans. The GOP controls the statehouse and the governor’s office. In 2012, Republican nominee Mitt Romney carried the state in the general election. While the Republican National Committee requires delegates to be pledged on behalf of candidates to the national convention, the Fargo Forum reports the North Dakota...

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Finding a motive for a deadly shooting at a Wal-Mart store in northeastern North Dakota will be difficult, even though investigators expect to get more details from witnesses, a police spokesman said Thursday. "I'm not confident that we're going to be able to find that. We're going to look for it," Grand Forks Police Lt. Derik Zimmel said. Authorities say Grand Forks Air Force Base Senior Airman Marcell Willis, 21, walked into the store early Tuesday in Grand Forks and shot and killed overnight cashier Gregory Weiland, 70. Willis then shot and wounded overnight grocery general...
