Setting The Record Straight For Foreigners by Mychal Massie on December 13, 2012 in Daily Rant Last night I was talking with a good friend in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who shared an interesting conversation he had with a black Sudanese Moslem about race in America. Jordan’s punishment for knowingly and intentionally misleading the American people and the world at large was to become the recipient of numerous journalism awards including the Livingston Award which until his receipt of same was only awarded posthumously. It seems that the individual my friend referenced was under the impression that white people...

Denial-of-Service assault - Third time in three days their website won't load - I'm thinking targeted drone missile strikes could solve this malicious hacker issue in a couple days - Spammers would be next on my "Ka-Boom List"

You could call it the “Hunger Games” approach to layoffs – one that’s getting a big thumbs-down from workplace experts. The Kansas City Star recently told two of its journalists, Karen Dillon and Dawn Bormann, that only one of them could keep her job -- and the employees themselves would have to decide who should leave the company, according to the media blog JimRomenesko.com. Dillion confirmed the report in an e-mail to NBC News, but did not provide any more details. The investigative reporter has worked for the Kansas City Star since 1991, according to her LinkedIn profile. Bormann did...

snip “But time and time we keep hearing this, so it just makes me wonder deeper about him,” Parker went on. “And I’ve talked to some people down in Washington D.C., friends of mine, who are around and at some of the press conferences, people I’ve known for a long time. But my question, which is just a straight honest question. Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother?” What does that mean, Parker was asked. “Well, [that] he’s black, he kind of does his thing, but he’s not really down with the cause, he’s not one of...

Barbra Streisand on love and politics By CAITLIN MCDEVITT | 12/13/12 1:36 PM EST Reuters Reuters Republicans hoping to romance Barbra Streisand are out of luck. Asked by CNN’s Piers Morgan if she’s “ever been in love with a Republican,” the famously liberal actress replied: “Never.” "Could you ever be?” Morgan followed up. "No," she replied. "Well, I mean unless there was an enormous sexual chemistry and, you know, and I had to - we never talked about politics, maybe. But I can't quite imagine it, no."

Charlie Rose and Gayle King pressed outgoing Senator Jim DeMint on Thursday's CBS This Morning over congressional Republicans resistance to tax hikes. When DeMint stated that President Obama will "probably eventually get his tax increases one way or another", Rose replied, "So, if he will get them, why not get them now and compromise and avoid going off the fiscal cliff?" Open Obama booster King added the bad polling numbers for Republicans into the mix as she tried to get the senator to surrender to the President's demand: "You released a statement...saying this is not rocket science...with that in mind,...

DEADLINE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT: Thursday, December 20. The MN Dept of Health wants your comments on patient consent before accessing private medical records, on having to inform patients about unauthorized access to medical records, and on whether patients should be able to see the electronic logs that show exactly who accessed their medical records, when, where, and why. States have power to write real privacy laws. Help legislators take a strong stand for real consent, limited consent, and the right to stay off the National Health Information Network. The NHIN is being created by $27 billion from the Recovery Act (stimulus). It...

AUSTRALIA'S Super Hornet fighter-bombers, including 12 fitted out for the RAAF as "Growler" electronic warfare aircraft, will be a major part of the nation's arsenal for many years and will not merely be a stopgap until the arrival of the promised Joint Strike Fighter. Defence Minister Stephen Smith said yesterday that, quite apart from bridging a capability gap if the new JSFs were delayed, the government was now looking at the longer-term use of the Super Hornet and the Growler. Mr Smith said that, putting aside concerns about delays to the JSFs, standard Super Hornets and Growlers used by the...

Why is Boehner even negotiating with zer0? Aren't all financial bills supposed to originate in the House? Just write the bill, and publicize its contents. Make the Admin and the Senate fail to pass/sign the bill. See where the publicity goes then.

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Did you know that the fiscal cliff is my fault? The fiscal cliff has been manufactured by me to scare you. I don't know when I did this, but Tom Harkin was on some Web show that the Huffing and Puffington Post has and the hostette, somebody named Alicia Menendez, who probably doesn't like the Apple Maps app, was interviewing Tom "Dung Heap" Harkin, and they're talking about the fiscal cliff. She said, "Do you hold the conservative media accountable?" Now, stop and think. What kind of wizard of smart do you have to be to in...

A Democratic senator hired an unpaid intern who was an undocumented immigrant but a documented sex offender. Apparently Senator Menendez needed an immigrant to do sex offending that Americans won’t do. Meanwhile, Representative Jim Moran is “embarrassed” by the revelation that his voter-fraud-orchestrating son smashed his girlfriend’s face into a garbage can and pleaded guilty to assault. The girlfriend appears to be doing what she can to make the story go away. But don’t worry, the phrase “war on women” may still only be used to describe people who don’t want to pay for someone else’s birth control. ... Obama’s...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: This story isn't getting a lot of play, but it should be. Many powerful Democrats, even some of the most liberal among them, are supporting what amounts to dismantling of Obamacare, and they are using Republican language to make their case. These Democrats are attempting to repeal some of the funding mechanisms as well as the cost containment measures that were purportedly inherent in the law. This is a piece by Dr. Susan Berry at Breitbart.com. "With some of their most influential constituent groups facing onerous tax increases that are slated to help fund the law’s mandates...

HONOLULU – Hawaii, at last. President Obama’s delayed Christmas vacation began at 11:42 p.m. (Hawaii time – 4:42 a.m. on the East Coast) when Air Force One touched down at Hickam Air Force Base here. Mr. Obama stepped off the plane into the sultry Hawaiian darkness with two members of Congress, Senator Daniel Akaka and Representative Mazie Hirono, both Democrats of Hawaii, who accompanied him for the 10-hour flight home. The president hopped into his S.U.V., and his motorcade sped off in a hurry to take him to his wife and daughters, who left Washington Saturday for their luxury rented...

Republicans are failing to define their party's purpose during the fiscal-cliff talks. After the presidential election, the biggest question out there is: What should the Republican Party stand for? The fiscal cliff, no matter the result, was an instant opportunity to elevate the party's basic beliefs. Instead the GOP is disappearing beneath waves of Beltway process. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell have worked hard to keep their thumbs stuck in the dam of rising tax rates. Still, the fiscal cliff is looking more each day like an inside-the-Beltway CYA operation. Does anyone in the country beyond the halls of Congress...
