When you include oil shale, the U.S. has 1.4 trillion barrels of technically recoverable oil, according to the Institute for Energy Research, enough to meet all U.S. oil needs for about the next 200 years, without any imports.

Remember that Barack Obama insists that there are "no silver bullets" to fix the issue of high gas prices. So when British Prime Minister David Cameron visited Washington for high-level talks and the discussion turned to gas prices, what did Obama propose? According to Reuters, holy water and a garland of garlic: President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron discussed the possibility of releasing emergency oil reserves during a meeting on Wednesday, two sources familiar with the talks said, the first sign that Obama is starting to test global support for an effort to knock back near-record fuel...

President Obama blasted his Republican critics Thursday for their resistance to investing in alternative energy sources, comparing their stance to the beliefs of those who thought that Columbus would sail off the edge of the world. In another in a series of speeches defending his energy policies, Obama touted his push for green energy growth — including wind and solar power, electric cars and biofuels — as a way to help wean the nation from a dependence on foreign oil. And he mocked his rivals for failing to embrace his ideas. “If some of these folks were around when Columbus...

Gasoline prices are zooming past $4 a gallon and the United States is hardly freer from the grip of imported oil or closer to robust economic recovery. With his approval ratings dropping precipitously, U.S. President Barack Obama is blaming speculators and investigating fraud and at the pump when this mess is the direct result of failed federal energy policies. By word and deed, the Obama administration has sought to limit off-shore oil exploration and development and hasten the commercial viability of solar, wind and alternative vehicle technologies. All this is based on two erroneous but strongly held beliefs among liberal...

Britain has decided to cooperate with the United States in a bilateral agreement to release strategic oil stocks, two British sources said, in an effort to prevent high fuel prices derailing economic growth in an election year. A formal request from the United States to the UK to join forces in a release of oil from government-controlled reserves is expected "shortly" following a meeting on Wednesday in Washington between President Barack Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron, who discussed the issue, one source said. Britain would respond positively, the two sources said.

Those who argue that the long slog of the Republican nomination race has hurt the chances to defeat Barack Obama will have new ammunition from Rasmussen's poll of likely general-election voters in Florida. Obama has narrow leads against both Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum in the key swing state -- but within the margin of error, and nowhere near the 50% level incumbents usually need to feel safe: President Obama now runs just barely ahead of both Republican front-runners in the key electoral state of Florida.A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Florida Voters finds Obama leading former Massachusetts...

According to the Washington Post, the Obama White House invited 362 people to its state dinner for the United Kingdom. One familiar face will be gracing the red carpet: Andrew Sullivan of The Daily Beast. For those who don’t remember, Andrew Sullivan is the once-conservative columnist who shifted dramatically to the left over the past few years – and reserved a special hatred in his heart for Sarah Palin and her special needs son Trig. Early on in the campaign, Sullivan suggested that Trig was not actually Sarah Palin’s son – he was Bristol’s son, and Sarah had claimed him...

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta's testimony asserting that the United Nations and NATO have supreme authority over the actions of the United States military, words which effectively declare Congress a ceremonial relic, have prompted Congressman Walter Jones to introduce a resolution that re-affirms such behavior as an "impeachable high crime and misdemeanor" under the Constitution. During a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing yesterday, Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey brazenly admitted that their authority comes not from the U.S. Constitution, but that the United States is subservient to and takes its marching orders from the United Nations...

div class="article_body"> Two different stories that came out today highlight the real consequences of the destructive and misguided ObamaCare regulations (known as the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act"). Rather than helping, the ObamaCare rules are wrecking havoc on companies, individuals, and medical institutions, spreading more misery to all of America .Instead of reducing costs and helping people, ObamaCare is dramatically raising costs (estimates have doubled to $1.76 trillion) and hurting Americans (4 million will lose coverage), while gradually destroying our world-class health care system which America has created based on ethical capitalism, competition, and free-market principles. Conservatives warned that...

During a recent interview at the White House, President Barack Obama said he fails to understand claims that his administration has been hostile to religion. “I find this very puzzling,” Obama said in a March 12 interview with Des Moines, Iowa's WHO TV. The president was asked to respond to charges that he has been “waging a war on religion,” a claim made by several of his Republican presidential competitors, as well as multiple other Christian leaders across the country. He responded by saying that his “first real job out of college was working with churches in low-income communities, trying...

Throughout Barack Obama’s campaign for the presidency and his subsequent time in that office, two things have been said again and again: 1. He has a grudge against America. 2. He takes his marching orders from Saul Alinsky (1909-1972), particularly as encapsulated in the book “Rules for Radicals.” Anyone who listens to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or Mark Levin regularly is going to hear point one frequently. For all three men, to the chagrin of their critics, have relentlessly warned Americans that Obama believes it’s time for this country to eat a little humble pie: that it’s time to put...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: The Congressional Budget Office says that Obamacare is gonna cost twice what he told us. The magic number for Obamacare was a trillion dollars. They had to keep that number under a trillion dollars in order to get it passed. I'm not gonna revisit why and I'm not gonna go back through all the details and the minutia and the arm twisting and the games they were playing to get Obamacare passed because they eventually got it passed. They tried toying around with the idea "deeming" it to have been passed, not even voting on it, a...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Karen Finney is the Democrat strategerist. She was on MSNBC last night. They were in total shock, total shock. "Santorum won last night! Santorum? Conservative women? How can this happen? " Karen Finney, big-time Democrat strategerist, said it hurt her that women voted for Santorum. FINNEY: (haltingly) Well... This woman vote really hurts me, I gotta say. (snickering) It's a little painful 'cause I'm wondering if those women really heard the full message that: Yes, there is the economy, but if you've gotta worry about your basic health care, how are you then gonna be able to...

When he was running for the Oval Office four years ago amid $4-a-gallon gasoline prices, then-Sen. Barack Obama dismissed the idea of expanded oil production as a way to relieve the pain at the pump. "Even if you opened up every square inch of our land and our coasts to drilling," he said. "America still has only 3% of the world's oil reserves." Which meant, he said, that the U.S. couldn't affect global oil prices....But the figure Obama uses — proved oil reserves — vastly undercounts how much oil the U.S. actually contains. In fact, far from being oil-poor, the...

Just when Barack Obama might have been feeling comfortable about his re-election, two major polls found his approval rating taking a dip and both Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum gaining on him. So what’s going on? The real aberration may have been the recent rise in Obama’s approval rating and the margins he held over the top GOP candidates. Looking at the Real Clear Politics (RCP) average of polls, Obama’s approval rating went into negative range (more disapprove than approve) in July 2010 and briefly went positive in May 2011 after Navy Seals killed Osama bin Laden. The spread then...

TransCanada Corp.’s Keystone XL pipeline, which would carry oil from landlocked Alberta to the U.S. Gulf Coast, is a “no-brainer” that would create jobs and bolster the economy, former President George W. Bush said on Tuesday. The $7.6 billion Keystone XL line would generate private-sector employment and government revenue, he said at an American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers conference in San Diego. The U.S. government’s budget deficit is unsustainable and must be reduced by supporting industry, Bush said. “The clear goal ought to be how to get the private sector to grow,” said Bush, who spoke during a luncheon at...

PRESIDENT Obama officially welcomed the British PM to the US today by vowing to fight for a successful global economy where all countries 'abide by the same rules.' The President, in his welcome speech at the White House declared that the bond between Britain and the US was stronger than ever and that both countries would work together to ensure that no other jeopardises the stability of the global economy. The economic situations for both countries have been precarious in recent months with the eurozone debt crisis threatening to destabilise the entire global economy. President Obama said: "We are fighting...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: John Podhoretz writing at Commentary magazine: "Obama’s Poll Troubles Suggest His 2012 Strategy Is Backfiring -- The fallout from two major polls yesterday -- Washington Post/ABC and New York Times/CBS -- finding measurable and significant drops in support for Barack Obama nationwide during the past month has instantly changed the national conversation. Obama is in trouble, and there’s no pretending he isn’t. One poll might have been viewed as an outlier, but two polls taken around the same time with the same sample size of American adults can’t be dismissed as statistical noise." And what Podhoretz goes...

Health Insurance Exemptions Claim: Scientologists, Amish, Christian Scientists, and Muslims will be exempt from requirements to obtain health insurance. MIXTURE Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-muslim populations conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to islam. The ObamaCare bill is the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia muslim diktat in the United States. Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking" and...

Arpaio: You know, I go back to Watergate. I wasn't involved, but I knew all the characters that were involved. Dick Kleindienst, former attorney general, we were very close when I was regional director. G.
