New Zealand’s government is responding to the Christchurch attacks by pledging to ban all semiautomatic rifles. The Newstalk ZB reports that Attorney General David Parker announced the pending ban on semiautomatic rifles during a vigil in Auckland. He couched the announcement in comments about “a dimming of enlightenment” in various places around the world. The Guardian reports that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern also plans to “focus on the ease with which legal weapons can be modified to become military-style assault rifles, which are more strictly controlled.”

The 74-page document, which is filled with ironic and sarcastic statements as well as references to internet memes, is believed to have been written by an Australian male citizen before he carried out the attack at one of the mosques in Christchurch. In the manifesto, he named Owens, a conservative political commentator and activist, while answering a question about which person radicalized him the most.

A New Zealand couple said they found a cloth bundle containing a severed head while strolling along a popular Fiji beach in what has become the latest gruesome discovery in a murder case that has captivated the picturesque South Pacific island nation. It has been revealed that millions of New Zealand taxpayer dollars have been donated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) to Hillary Clinton’s charity, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), a non-profit organisation created from the Clinton Foundation with the stated goal to reduce HIV/AIDs in Africa.
