The question that won't go away is, why has a decision been made -- and it clearly has been made -- that the US will not restrict the entry of illegal immigrants? Bush and the other political leaders - of both parties - pay no more than lip service to border control. Meanwhile, the borders remain uncontrolled - obviously by design, because specific strategies for control (such as more funding for border agents) are rejected. Every time the left finds one of its ideas discredited, it seeks to change the language or name. That is evident in the current attempt by world government advocates to derail the nomination of John Bolton to be ambassador to the United Nations. Misguided Mission It's clear that the president's brain is occupied by the neoconservatives who surround him. It's clear from their writings and policy statements that the neoconservatives believe the United States can become the dominant power on Earth. I hope they don't kick me out of the Republican Party for this. But free trade is a bad idea. For years it hasn't set right with me, and I've tried to figure out why. And now I know.
