A Fox NFL Sunday skit made vicious fun of Jessica Simpson’s weight. Meghan McCain says cheap shots like that are harmful to women of all shapes and sizes. BY MEGHAN MCCAIN Last weekend’s Fox NFL Sunday broadcast featured an offensive animated segment making fun of Jessica Simpson’s weight. Yet again. The cartoon, which was set in the Dallas Cowboys' locker room featured several players joking about the singer in front of her ex-boyfriend, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. "Man, I still can’t believe Tony dated Jessica Simpson, even after she blew up bigger than Flozell Adams!" (Adams is the team’s 340-pound...

NOTE: At the time a hero was walking on the moon, a coward was walking away from a woman trapped underwater in an airpocket. It was only 6 feet of water. Because the anniversary falls on the weekend, if you want to acknowledge the anniversary with a call to the Chappaquiddick Lifeguard's office, you need to do it today. Doug from Upland will be doing what he usually does on this date - calling the office and gurgling water - (202) 224-4543. Be creative and have fun! =================================================== 40th anniversary of Mary Jo Kopechne’s drowning at Chappaquiddick...Kennedy's story still doubtful...

Ted Kennedy was on Restaurant Row Sunday morning, but the senior Senator from Massachusetts was not in town for brunch. Arriving in a chauffeured SUV, his wife Vicky and their two dogs in tow, Kennedy spent about an hour at the Barack Obama campaign headquarters on Second Street to fire up the campaign's volunteers for one last push during the final 44 hours of the primary campaign. "Here, put your arm around me," Kennedy told one blushing woman seeking to have her photo taken with him before he went inside the Obama headquarers. "What kind of a reception is that?"

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) painted himself during his trial this week at Club Gitmo as employee of the decade for Al Qaeda’s Death Monkey Squad. This piece of Samsonite prattled on with Islamic glee about his noxious brain farts such as . . . • The suicide hijackings of 9/11. Remember 9/11/2001? Think back, way back to like . . . uh . . . 5 ½ years ago when 3,000 people died during a terrorist attack here in the U.S. Does that ring a bell? It doesn’t? Just google it. It was pretty bad. • Personally cutting off...

In his book, which came out this week, Kengor focuses on a KGB letter written at the height of the Cold War that shows that Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) offered to assist Soviet leaders in formulating a public relations strategy to counter President Reagan's foreign policy and to complicate his re-election efforts.

Once upon a time, no one whipped up conservative rage like Ted Kennedy. Back in the day, the senator from Massachusetts wasn’t just a misguided Democrat — he was the Liberal Great Satan, a genuine menace to all things good and holy. Consider Teddy Bare: The Last of the Kennedy Clan, a 1971 screed by Zad Rust dedicated to the accident that killed Mary Jo Kopechne two years earlier. The circumstances of the case were ugly: after driving his car off a bridge and into the waters of Poucha Pond, Kennedy swam to safety and fled, instead of immediately notifying...

January 15, 2006 -- "There is truth, and that is all that matters." So goes the mantra - repeated every other page or so - in James Frey's best-selling, Oprah-touted memoir, "A Million Little Pieces," in which he portrays himself as a scum-of-the-earth, drug-dealing outlaw who finds redemption in a rehab clinic. But the scribe - who was exposed last week for exaggerating his criminal past - has in fact lived a privileged life. Born in Cleveland to a well-to-do family, he moved to St. Joseph, Mich., at age 12, when his father, Bob, was named assistant general counsel for...

KETCHIKAN, Alaska - Whale researchers say it was highly unusual for a killer whale to bump a 12-year-old boy splashing in shallow water near Ketchikan. Ellis Miller found himself face-to-face with an orca charging at him in 4 feet of water Saturday in Helm Bay. The animal, estimated to be more than 25 feet long, bumped but did not bite him. "I looked underwater and there was this huge head right in front of me," Ellis told the Ketchikan Daily News. Biologists said whale may have been curious or it may have aborted an attack. "If it had wanted to...

SEATTLE (Reuters) - Killer whales in the Pacific Northwest's Puget Sound should be protected as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act, government scientists said on Thursday. "Our recovery efforts are already under way for these killer whales," Bob Lohn, head of the National Marine Fisheries Service's northwest regional office, said in a statement. The orcas, a pod of 84 that spends several months of the year in the frigid waters of Washington state's Puget Sound, are currently protected under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Designating the pod as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act will extend...

HALSA, Norway - From his new home in a tranquil Norwegian bay, Keiko the killer whale has what his friends say is an ideal place to live: peace and quiet, human care and ample opportunity to meet wild orcas. The six-ton orca, who gained fame in the "Free Willy" movies, was led Thursday from the Skaalvik fjord, where he turned up in early September, to the nearby but quieter Taknes Bay. "Here at last," said Colin Baird, 36, Keiko's Canadian trainer. "Welcome to Taknes," Baird said in Norwegian, reading a sign painted by some of the 10 residents who turned...
