I wish you all the best. I have tried to post tributes to the Army, info on Obama's horrendous run for office and McCain's slightly less horrible attempt. I wish you all the best but FR is just as likely to exclude people from the deabte as anyone else. They have that right, freedom to cleave to whoever you like is a right I agree with but I am guessing I am not one Jim wants associate with. I wish you all the best but I am bowing out of this forum. Have a great life. God bless u all!

Ann Coulter's bigotry exposed once again March 4, 2007 ... Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference before a crowd on Friday, Coulter said, "I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I — so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards." "Ann Coulter's use of an anti-gay slur yesterday was un-American and indefensible," Edwards said in a posting on his Web site, www.johnedwards.com.

BOSTON - More than 10 blinking electronic devices planted at bridges and other spots in Boston threw a scare into the city Wednesday in what turned out to be a publicity campaign for a late-night cable cartoon. Most if not all of the devices depict a character giving the finger. Boston police said Wednesday night that one person had been arrested, and authorities scheduled a news conference to provide details. Highways, bridges and a section of the Charles River were shut down and bomb squads were sent in before authorities declared the devices were harmless. "It's a hoax — and...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A gun found in a carry-on bag at a security checkpoint at Baltimore-Washington International Airport prompted authorities to shut two terminals on Friday, a security official said. The firearm was discovered shortly before 7 a.m. and did not make it through the screening, said Carrie Harmon, a spokeswoman for the Transportation Security Administration. The airport's terminals A and B were closed and passengers were being brought out from these areas and rescreened, Harmon said by telephone. The gun was turned over to law enforcement officials, she said.

Pat Hensen spent a good part of his 35-year career with the Soil Conservation Service (now Natural Resource Conservation Service) helping Texas Blacklands farmers improve their land. And he’s invested considerable time, effort and money the last 20 years doing the same on his own or leased acreage. And it may all end up under yards of concrete and asphalt if the Trans Texas Corridor passes muster and follows the latest proposed route. “My farm would be in the middle of it,” Hensen says from his Bell County living room where he and wife Loretta participate in a grassroots campaign...

The occasional football flying over the garden fence is an inconvenience familiar to most people with a young family as neighbours. It is certainly familiar to Ray Markham. He has returned more than 50 balls to policeman neighbour Stewart Bosworth and his two sons over the last two years. But when one leather ball crashed into his greenhouse recently, breaking a pane, the retired taxi firm manager decided to take a stand and refused to hand it back. The incident prompted Sergeant Bosworth to call in four colleagues from Warwickshire police to arrest Mr Markham, 68, for alleged theft of...

TAMPA - Gov. Jeb Bush took a rare opportunity to one-up late night talk show hosts Monday when he appeared at the Florida State Fair Governor's Day Luncheon. Like other guests, the governor was given a "No Farmers, No Food" sticker from the Florida Farm Bureau. Opening his remarks before the 1,000 or so guests gathered, Bush made a show of placing the sticker on his chest. The sticker was bright orange - like a hunting jacket. "I'm a little concerned that Dick Cheney is going to walk in," he quipped.

The pending Court Martial of Lt Bryan Black, an instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy, highlights the essential hypocrisy of service academy leadership's modus operandi. The personal honesty and integrity of these leaders is not the issue, rather it is the systemic attitude that allows leaders to focus only on those things that may embarrass the institution, while passing on things that are equally offensive but less embarrassing. In this instance Lt Black was serving as a Safety Officer on one of the academy's Yard Patrol Craft (YP) during a training excursion into the Chesapeake Bay. This young officer appears...

by Mark Finkelstein December 31, 2005 - 19:48. When a few years ago Rush Limbaugh suggested that the media, hoping for a black-quarterback success story, had over-rated Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb, ESPN fired him from its Sunday night football show. Can you imagine what the media would have done to Rush had he dared to employ the classically racial "feets don't fail me now" line? Yet that is exactly what major ESPN personality Chris Berman did a few minutes ago in introducing coverage of this afternoon's Denver Broncos game. He apparently said it vis a vis white Denver Broncos...

(CBS 5) SAN FRANCISCO A parody video that features uniformed and plainclothes San Francisco police officers and racist and sexist stereotypes has led to the suspension of at least 20 police officers. In a press conference Wednesday evening with Police Chief Heather Fong, Mayor Gavin Newsom described the video as a series of skits showing situations demeaning to Asians, African-Americans, homosexuals and transsexuals. Police Chief Heather Fong called the videos “egregious, shameful and despicable.” Police officer Andrew Cohen, who produced the video vignettes and was among those suspended, told CBS 5 the video was made for the Bayview police station's...

Rush Limbaugh sounds off on controversy as many urge boycotts, firing of president An apology by PepsiCo's president who likened the United States to a middle finger is apparently doing little to calm outrage caused by her remarks. In the wake of WorldNetDaily's coverage of Indra Nooyi's commencement speech to graduates at Columbia Business School in which she compared the U.S. to the middle finger with both positive and negative connotations, consumers are vowing to boycott the company, and the topic is being widely discussed on talk radio.

Gibson's right to his 'Passion' Overreaction will cause more anti-Semitism than movie itself By Michael Medved SEATTLE – Any honest discussion of Mel Gibson's movie "The Passion of the Christ" must begin with recognition of a few undeniable facts: The movie has been made and will open in thousands of theaters worldwide this month. It will draw eager audiences and become a box office hit - due in part to prerelease controversy, the "must see" factor has reached an almost unprecedented level of intensity among both committed Christians and the cinematically curious. Mainstream Christian leaders of every denomination will embrace...

Friends, The Amazing Race is one of the most popular TV shows. Unfortunately, CBS has chosen to use the term "married" to describe the relationship of two males from California who are featured on that show. As such, CBS is effectively broadcasting to the nation that "marriage" between two men is valid and exists, despite the fact that NO state in the U.S. recognizes two men as being "married" to each other. At most, Vermont has recognized a "civil union" between two males, but that law was expressly designed not to use the term "marriage" or "married." California and Hawaii...

Sandy and I attended a fundraiser Sunday evening. It was held at Dreamworks in Glendale, California. The beneficiary was the Glendale Rose Parade Float Committee. Numerous local business concerns manned booths providing free samples of their wares, mostly food. Community members came together for this social gathering. A silent auction, a raffle and an audible auction were held to market items that benefited the effort. The event was nice. The venue was a Dreamworks courtyard area on a balmy summer evening. Attendees had purchased tickets to attend. When Sandy and I drove up to the parking structure, we noted four...
