Vermont has a new Safe Haven law, which means that parents can hand over an infant to an employee at any fire station, health facility or hospital, with absolutely no questions asked. However, apparently Planned Parenthood is considered a safe place for infants in Vermont. In an advertisement from Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, the abortion business announced, “Vermont has a new safe haven law. This means that rather than abandoning your newborn, you can bring your baby to a safe place where he or she will be carried for. All Planned Parenthood health centers in Vermont are safe...

What the Terrorists Have in Mind By DANIEL BENJAMIN and GABRIEL WEIMANN With less than a week before the election, President Bush is seeking to turn the favorable ratings he receives for his prosecution of the war on terrorism into a clinching advantage. His latest television advertisement, using a pack of wolves to stand in for foreign terrorists, ends with the line: "Weakness attracts those who are waiting to do America harm." He has backed up this sentiment in his foreign-policy stump speeches. "In a free and open society, it is impossible to protect against every threat,'' he told a...

[snip] Bush's media man Mark McKinnon raises the level of concern about terror to realistic proportions in an advertisement that features wolves closing in on an unsuspecting and distracted America. As the wolves close in, McKinnon's narrator lists the cuts in intelligence funding, weapons systems and defense spending that Kerry has backed during his Senate career. It's the best negative ad since media genius Tony Schwartz showed a mushroom cloud as a little girl picked petals off a daisy to derail Barry Goldwater's 1964 crusade. The wolf ad has sparked an amazing surge in Bush's support to the point where...

THE "WOLF" AD [10/22 10:58 AM] The Note, which rebounds from yesterday's poor judgment with a funny summary of all the campaign coverage cliches this year, offers a hint of the "Wolf" ad that Rich mentioned in the Corner yesterday: As for the new Bush ad, the AP says the spot is, "reminiscent of Ronald Reagan's 'Bear' ad that was credited with framing the 1984 race, (and) shows a dense forest from above. Scurrying is heard as the camera plunges deeper into the woods and pans sunlight-speckled trees. Shadows move through the brush before animals are seen amid the forest....

Two schools of thought here. 1) The wolf ad is the hardest ad they will run and next week we will see quite a few "soft ads" 2) They are saving the best for last. IF the wolf ad was the hardest ad they had, why would they release it this week. No, I think next week we will see an ad that will blow our minds. Possibly a video of Kerry desecrating a flag. Maybe worse!

WASHINGTON -- Wolves prowl through a forest in a new television ad that says "weakness attracts those who are waiting to do America harm," a suggestion by President Bush's campaign that terrorists would seize on a John Kerry presidency. "In an increasingly dangerous world, even after the first terrorist attack on America, John Kerry and the liberals in Congress voted to slash America's intelligence budget by $6 billion," an ominous voice in the ad claims. "Cuts so deep they would have weakened America's defenses. And weakness attracts those who are waiting to do America harm." Using powerful imagery, the ad...

Pictures of a menacing pack of wolves are being used by President Bush's campaign in a tough new TV ad that contends John Kerry isn't strong enough to keep America safe from terror. "Weakness attracts those who are waiting to do America harm," says a woman's voice as the wolf pack stirs and starts on the prowl. The ad opens with shots of sunlight glinting through a dark forest as a mysterious, threatening animal — not yet clearly identifiable as a wolf — looms, a threat lurking in the dark. "Even after the first terrorist attack on America, John...
