NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One person is dead and two others are injured after they were hit while on a Manhattan sidewalk by a taxi that jumped a curb. The accident was reported at about 9:45 p.m. at East 40th Street at Third Avenue. New York City police have identified the dead man as Paul Smith, a helicopter pilot for Channel 7. Channel 7 reports that Smith and his family were attending a birthday dinner at a restaurant when the accident happened. The cab driver has not been charged.
