  • Peter King urges immigration reform

A House GOP lawmaker is urging Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to bring up immigration reform, saying it would benefit the nation and the Republican Party to undertake an overhaul that includes a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. The letter from Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) adds to a quiet but growing chorus of comments from House Republicans during the current congressional recess speaking in favor of immigration reform this year – which remains a steep uphill battle, with the House GOP fundamentally divided on the hot-button issue.

The murders at Fort Hood have resulted in renewed calls to lift Bill Clinton’s ban on personally owned firearms on military bases. This latest attack was the third on a military installation in the past five years, so common sense, no, common DECENCY dictates that a change in policy is necessary. Those who essentially hate the military and think the worst of its members have had their way long enough. Their “because we say so” policy has never made sense. It has to end because it’s killing people and destroying lives. The arguments against allowing our military personnel the means...

New York Officials Argue for Flexibility with Gun Law Violators… As Long as They're on the City's PayrollSome of New York's most strident gun control advocates have rushed to the defense of an unwitting traveler who was arrested at an airport for a technical violation of a draconian gun law. Has a new era of sanity arrived in the Big Apple? Not really. This defendant happens to be an NYPD officer who is alleged to have violated India's strict firearm regulations. On March 10th, NYPD Officer Manny Encarnacion was arrested when officials at the airport in New Delhi discovered three...

Members of Congress who have been briefed by intelligence officials say they are baffled by the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The Boeing 777 has been missing since March 7, when it lost contact with air traffic controllers about an hour into its flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing. Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak said Saturday that communications systems on the missing flight were deliberately disabled by someone on the plane and the last known signal came more than seven hours after takeoff. Lawmakers said they sought out information from multiple federal agencies about the missing plane, but...
  • Peter King: Rand Paul ‘Unfit to Be a Leader of a Party’

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) was on “America’s News Headquarters” today, where he discussed Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference. In his speech, Paul said that the NSA monitors all phone calls. […] “I think it’s an ignorant strategy which shows that he’s unfit to be a leader of a party. To say that the NSA is monitoring people’s phone calls—the NSA does not listen to anyone’s phone calls, cannot record the conversations of anyone’s phone call, unless there’s a court order, and that can only be obtained after [they’ve] shown direct contact with a terrorist...

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) defended Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Wednesday after the House passed a clean debt-limit bill that raised the ire of conservatives. King branded as “morons” many conservatives in the GOP caucus who consistently oppose any effort to pass the debt limit, asserting they are the same faction that led to the government shutdown last year. “This is the same group that back in September and October went into a government shutdown that everybody knew was a disaster,” King said on MSNBC. “They ended up looking like morons following Ted Cruz over the cliff.” King had been...

I have heard more than once (from Dems, Dem-e's and RINOs as well) concerning the NSA that "we need to be able to collect the dots so that we can connect the dots." But what about suspicionless dots, as in suspicionless wiretaps or suspicionless meta data mining/gathering? Was it ok for the British to serve a search warrant for an entire city (big or small), so as to try to find the one person they were looking for in that city? No evidence of abuse? Has Congress had near unlimited access to the NSA's activities to see if any abuse...

Republicans are routinely – and, for the most part, wrongfully – mischaracterized by a lamestream American media that has shifted so far to the political left that even Karl Marx would be uncomfortable. But every now and then, like a broken clock, the lamestreams get it right: Some Republicans can be a little kooky and extreme. And it’s even better when the extreme nature of these few Republicans put them at odds with other members of their party. The ensuing “cat fight” makes for great political theater.Enter Rep. Peter King, RINO, New York.Instead of whipping up on the current Democrat regime...

Simple question... Did Clapper and/or Obama lie in any way concerning any testimony and/or statements that they have made in the past about the NSA? If so, why would Peter King be eager to attack Rand Paul? If Clapper lied, and Obama lied, surely Peter King would at least be saying that he is going to reserve judgment on the NSA not abusing its powers in light of what Clapper and/or Obama have said, and wait and see if any info comes to light that shows that the NSA cannot be trusted?

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) on Sunday said fellow Republican Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) “doesn’t deserve to be in the United States Senate” based on his accusations against the National Security Agency over its domestic spying program. Appearing on Fox News, the hawkish former chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee launched a broadside against Paul, saying he was “totally uninformed or he’s part of that hate America crowd that I thought left us in the 1960s.” Earlier Sunday, the more libertarian Paul defended his planned class-action lawsuit against the NSA and suggested that both James Clapper, the director of national...

Former Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said he’s still pondering a run for the White House because he doesn’t want Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) define the GOP. King, who’s made five trips up to early primary state New Hampshire and admitted in July that he’s toying with the idea of a presidential campaign, told MSNBC he hasn’t made up his mind yet and his decision should come “sometime next year, either next year or the beginning of 2015.” “Again, I’ve been up there five times. I am looking at it. People are talking...

Not for the first time since he took office, President Obama is being accused of looking a lot like his predecessor when it comes to terrorism. This week, the anger came from media reports detailing the scope of National Security Agency (NSA) espionage in Europe, including bugging the cellphone of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and a sweep of French metadata from phone calls, e-mails, and other electronic communications similar to what it has done in the US. For a man who first took office promising change in how America treated the world, it looked like more of the same. Already,...

If there is a country Saudi Arabia and Iran despise more than Israel, it’s each other. When it comes to Syria, Iran’s most prominent ally, the prospect of removing Bashar al-Assad has a pavlovian effect on the Saudis. ... Putin beat Barack Obama and John Kerry like a couple of drums. While Obama saw an opportunity to spin a resounding defeat into an opportunity to back down under the guise of a diplomatic stalemate as the preferred option, there were consequences. One of those consequences involves Saudi Arabia’s anger with the U.S. for not dealing with Assad. Consequences aren’t necessarily...

Once again, out in public, but this time not McCain or Ayotte or Graham or Peter King, or... you name it.. we have someone giving their PUBLIC two-cents worth on Republicans primarying Republicans, some having so-called Pharisaical attitudes and so forth. It’s hard to imagine a more divisive political figure in the United States today than Ted Cruz. The freshman US Senator from Texas drives liberals and Democrats crazy. If anything, he drives many of his fellow conservatives and Republicans – that is, the members of Congress trying to compete with President Obama through traditional legislative means – even crazier. He’s the face of a newly-revived tea party movement that’s as much a threat to the establishment GOP as it is to Democrats. And as much as any other individual in US politics today, Sen. Cruz was responsible for the 16-day...

This public bashing needs to stop. Yesterday, I saw on television Ayotte still going at it talking about how this shutdown doesn't need to happen again. Maybe so, but enough of McCain, Graham, Ayotte, Corker, Peter King, etc, airing things out in public. Cruz, last night talked in part abvout McCain dive-bombing House Republicans, how this disunified Republicans, and how non-unity in the House/Senate torpedoed any chance of delaying or altering parts of ObamaCare - and Hannity brought up other individuals. But enough is enough. If they have a problem with someone or something take it to them in private...
