The Republican National Committee (RNC) is receiving criticism for a tweet it sent to commemorate Presidents’ Day. The RNC’s Twitter account on Monday shared a graphic of various presidents with the words, “Happy Presidents’ Day To Such Great U.S. Presidents.” The presidents featured in the graphic were all Republicans, including Abraham Lincoln, Calvin Coolidge, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump.

Politico argued on Monday that President’s Day should be canceled for including former President Donald Trump in the holiday. In an article titled, “It’s Time To Cancel Presidents Day,” the publication made the case that President’s Day is not woke enough, and that it “does a disservice to history” and “is less a show of genuine respect for American history than an insult to it.”

Nearing his first full year in office, President Biden has conducted fewer news conferences than any of his five immediate predecessors at the same point in their time in the White House and has given fewer media interviews than six of them did, according to a story on Sunday. The president has done 22 interviews with the media and held nine formal news conferences – six solo and three with visiting foreign leaders – an analysis by Martha Joynt Kumar, a professor at Town University and director of the White House Transition Project, found, the Associated Press reported.

When asked to name the president who has done the best job over the past 40 years, a majority of Democrats name Barack Obama. Republicans, by contrast, are divided between a president who served in the 1980s – Ronald Reagan – and the one who left office this year, Donald Trump.
