While prosecutors successfully concealed the identities of most FBI informants planted in the Proud Boys, newly obtained surveillance video shows the movement of one Proud Boy informant on January 6. Michael Alan Jones is a convicted felon with a history of firearms, drug and statutory rape charges. But rather than spend years in prison—more on that in a future piece—in 2019, Jones suddenly became interested in so-called “white supremacist” and “neo-Nazi” groups including the Proud Boys and Patriot Front. And according to a recent article on Raw Story, an online publication that tracks the activity of those groups, Jones was...

Back during the 2020 election and the “Summer of Love” BLM riots, a group of Proud Boys was seen tearing down a Black Lives Matter sign outside of a predominantly Black church in Washington. Arrests were made, though not of the rioters, of course. And a lawsuit was brought against the group. Now a Superior Court judge in Washington has ordered the group to pay more than a million dollars in reparations. Since the entire thing was caught on video, there is little doubt as to who was responsible, but this case raises a couple of immediate and obvious questions....

It started with the peaceful protest of a “pride” drag show by a children’s theater group during the first-ever Pride Day in a small town near Portland, Ore. It could have ended there but for a brawl between the Proud Boys and the masked bunch who attempted to infiltrate the group on Saturday. The gauzy in-between of it all is being seized upon by politicos such as former Congressman Adam Kinzinger and Rep. Eric Swalwell to make their political points. Even Elon Musk wanted to know what was going on. Naturally, because the media and Democrat narrative prevails, the Proud...

Almost none of the reports about Thursday's conviction of four Proud Boys members mentioned the fact that the far-right group was riddled with FBI informants. But his king od law enforcement collusion with the far right is a profound threat to democracy. The news that four members of the far-right organization the Proud Boys were just convicted for seditious conspiracy, including their former leader Enrique Tarrio, has made the rounds this week. But if you only tuned in to the proceedings a few days ago to read about the verdict, there's something you almost certainly haven't heard: that both Tarrio...

A federal jury yesterday convicted four Proud Boys of participating in a seditious conspiracy aimed at keeping Donald Trump in office after Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election. Those verdicts, former federal prosecutor Dennis Aftergut argues in an MSNBC opinion piece, show that the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol was "an organized, violent uprising meant to overturn the 2020 election." According to Aftergut, "It's now established beyond a reasonable doubt that the Capitol siege was not spontaneous, but rather a planned assault by force on our democracy." There are a couple of problems with that characterization....

The conviction of Proud Boys leaders for "seditious conspiracy" on Jaunary 6 energized MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace. She was ready to pounce—on Donald Trump. She was hoping to parlay that into a prosecution of Trump. It had everything but the "lock him up" chants. [snip] But then came Leonnig's blow to Nicolle's dreams: "I know, and I think many of the people on your panel know, that prosecutors do not have evidence in hand linking the effort of Enrique Tarrio, Stewart Rhodes, and other lieutenants of theirs, to Donald Trump. They do not have the smoking-gun evidence that shows that...

Former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and three other members of the far-right extremist group were convicted Thursday of a plot to attack the U.S. Capitol in a desperate bid to keep Donald Trump in power after the Republican lost the 2020 presidential election. A jury in Washington, D.C., found Tarrio guilty of seditious conspiracy after hearing from dozens of witnesses over more than three months in one of the most serious cases brought in the stunning attack that unfolded on Jan. 6, 2021, as the world watched on live TV. Tarrio was also convicted of obstructing Congress' certification of...

WASHINGTON — At least four members of the far-right Proud Boys organization were found guilty Thursday of seditious conspiracy in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Enrique Tarrio, Joseph Biggs, Ethan Nordean and Zachary Rehl each faced nine counts, and were found guilty on the rare charge of seditious conspiracy under a Civil War-era statute. They were also found guilty of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding. The jury has only reached a partial verdict, U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly said Thursday, and the verdicts on other charges are still being read.

WASHINGTON — Attorneys for the Proud Boys placed blame for the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol on Donald Trump in closing arguments in their seditious conspiracy trial Tuesday. An attorney for Enrique Tarrio, the head of the Proud Boys, said federal prosecutors were trying to make him a "scapegoat for Donald J. Trump and for those in power." A lawyer for Joe Biggs said the defendants came to Washington because their "commander-in-chief" told them it would "be wild," referring to Trump's infamous tweet on Dec. 19, 2020, that called on supporters to come to Washington on Jan. 6.

Guilty verdicts in the most consequential January 6 trial will be the green light the Justice Department has been waiting for to go after the former president. Of the hundreds of video clips used as evidence in the marathon trial of five members of the Proud Boys, prosecutors began closing arguments not with a clip of the defendants engaged in criminal activity but with a clip of Donald Trump. The government showed the jury a portion of the September 2020 presidential debate; goaded by Joe Biden and then-Fox News host Chris Wallace to condemn “white supremacists and militia groups” in...

The federal judge overseeing the Proud Boys seditious-conspiracy trial in Washington on April 16 rejected a defendant’s calls for a mistrial and his allegations of evidence tampering, withholding of exculpatory evidence, and government misconduct. In a 10-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly rejected requests from defendant Dominic Pezzola for a mistrial or dismissal of charges.Kelly called Pezzola’s conclusions “bizarre” and said they “lack legal and factual support.”Pezzola claimed he was deprived of exculpatory evidence from video footage aired in March on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”Proud Boys defendant Dominic Pezzola smashes Capitol windows with a riot shield on Jan. 6,...

The trial of Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio over his alleged role in the January 6 Capitol Hill riot has taken some odd twists and turns thus far. That pattern continued this week when his attorney introduced text messages showing that Tarrio had been in regular communications with a D.C. Metropolitan Police officer for more than a year prior to the riot. He had regularly exchanged information with Shane Lamond, a seasoned veteran of the D.C. Police. The texts reveal that Tarrio answered questions and shared the group’s plans, with Lamond passing the information on to his superiors and sharing...

Many people have charged that the Jan. 6 “insurrection,” if any such thing took place at all, was the work not of Trump supporters who were on hand at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, but of Leftist plants in the crowd, directed by feds who were avid to frame and destroy Trump. Now the defense attorney for one of those supposed “insurrectionists” is charging that our corrupt and politicized federal law enforcement agencies had a large number of undercover informants in the crowd that day. If his claim is substantiated, it should put the Left’s “insurrection” fantasy definitively to...

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s flop was merely the unsatisfying appetizer for the feast on Donald Trump that is about to come. The first grand jury indictment against Donald Trump, like so many highly-anticipated gotcha moments involving the former president, landed with a thud this week. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s 34-count bill of goods failed to impress legal and political observers across the spectrum. Even Ruth Marcus, associate editor for the Washington Post, admitted the legal basis for the charges is “unnervingly flimsy at worst.” News coverage of Bragg’s faceplant is quickly disappearing from the front pages as all...

Law enforcement agencies had at least 40 undercover informants engaging in surveillance work among defendants on Jan. 6, defendant Dominic Pezzola’s lawyer Roger Roots said Wednesday. A Proud Boys member, Pezzola is currently standing federal trial in Washington, D.C. with the group’s former national chairman Enrique Tarrio and members Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, Zachary Rehl for allegedly conspiring to oppose the Jan. 2021 transfer of presidential power and related charges. The government admitted Tuesday that eight FBI confidential human sources were embedded among the Proud Boys on Jan. 6, Roots reported in a Wednesday court filing, saying the Homeland Security...

The new House oversight committee investigating the political weaponization of the Justice Department may want to bring on some additional staff and start putting in some overtime. Every new story that comes out about the FBI’s actions in recent years makes the Bureau look worse and worse. The latest story posted by our colleagues at PJ Media involves the ongoing “seditious conspiracy” charges being brought against leaders and members of the Proud Boys. The trial of chapter leader Zach Rehl was preparing to call a witness this week, but ran into a problem. Their “witness” turned out to be a...

Dozens if not hundreds of government operatives infiltrated the protests at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. Below is an ever expanding list of government operatives The Gateway Pundit and others identified working inside the massive Trump crowd at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. The Gateway Pundit continues to add to this list as we learn more about the planned and choreographed #FedSurrection. INCIDENT 1: The FBI infiltrated the Proud Boys — and their informant exonerated the Proud Boys of any conspiracy. In July 2022 TGP contributor Cara Castronuova released whistleblower documents, text messages, and audio transcripts...

The Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed Wednesday that a witness who Jan. 6 defendant Enrique Tarrio’s lawyer Sabino Jauregui planned to call for testimony had been an FBI informant, based on a court filing American Greatness’ Julie Kelly obtained. Jauregui said DOJ attorneys would not tell him whether two other planned witnesses were FBI informants, a hearing transcript shows. “My biggest concern is the fact that we still have confidential human sources who are unknown to us,” defendant Zachary Rehl’s lawyer Carmen Hernandez said Thursday. A Jan. 6 defendant’s lawyer said Justice Department (DOJ) attorneys would not tell him Wednesday...

After nine weeks of testimony from multiple government witnesses, including FBI agents, the Justice Department finally concluded its case-in-chief in the Proud Boys’ seditious conspiracy trial on Monday. Five Proud Boys, including the group’s leader, Enrique Tarrio, are accused of conspiring to “oppose the lawful transfer of presidential power by force” on January 6, 2021. It is Attorney General Merrick Garland’s most consequential case related to January 6; convictions will help build a similar case against Donald Trump largely based on his infamous “stand back and stand by” remark to the Proud Boys during an October 2020 presidential debate. Most...
