So the GOP now has the power of the purse. I did some searching but cannot really find out what this enables them to do, outside of passing bills. Do they really get to say what money actually gets spent? Like a literal checkbook? Just curious…

Immigration and Customs Enforcement; 3. border enforcement generally, including restrictions on immigration from countries that send people who we cannot vet; 4. enforcement of various Trump Executive Orders, including one that denies automatic U.S. Citizenship to children of illegal aliens born in the U.S.; 5.
