A semi carrying porta potties pulled up yesterday beside the WW II Memorial in Washington D.C.. The porta potties were donated by private citezens to help out the visiting veterans since the facilities are closed. However, the park rangers turned the truck away and they were not allowed to unload. Michele Tennery witnessed this event and was astonished that the rangers could be so heartless in their treatment of the veterans. Michele added, “The photos show the attempted delivery of Port-A-Johns by Don’s Johns. The NPS Ranger would not allow the Port-A-Johns to be left at the WWII Memorial site...

A day after Tanner Scheppers reported he was unavailable after being “sucker-punched” while leaving a Cleveland restaurant, a different version of the story is being reported, as well. In it, Scheppers was the instigator in a fight at a Cleveland restaurant/bar at approximately 2:30 a.m.. He was one of three Rangers at Pannini’s, along with reliever Joe Nathan and catcher A.J. Pierzynski. According to an unnamed source in local weekly Cleveland Scene, Scheppers “lost a bar fight. He had 10 chances to walk away before this happened.”

Life on the road can be dangerous for professional athletes. Unfortunately for Texas Rangers reliever Tanner Scheppers, he found that out the hard way after the team arrived in Cleveland on Thursday night for their weekend series against the Indians. According to Drew Davison of the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, Scheppers was attacked by a group of young males in downtown Cleveland after going out for a food run. The assault took place about two blocks away from the team's hotel, and as a result Scheppers was unavailable to pitch on Friday night after suffering a laceration near his left eye...

Jason Everman has the unique distinction of being the guy who was kicked out of Nirvana and Soundgarden, two rock bands that would sell roughly 100 million records combined. At 26, he wasn’t just Pete Best, the guy the Beatles left behind. He was Pete Best twice. Then again, he wasn’t remotely. What Everman did afterward put him far outside the category of rock’n’roll footnote. He became an elite member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, one of those bearded guys riding around on horseback in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban.

Game Seven. In the realm of sport ($1 to RINO Romney), those are two stirring words. And in just a few hours, the San Antonio Spurs have a shot at redemption after frittering away what should have been a slam dunk for a fifth NBA title and a deserved crowning of a dynasty. Game six is still fresh in my mind. Not only Tuesday's collapse when the Spurs were up by 5 with 20 seconds left. Yet another game six is still painful for this Texan. That of course was the 107th World Series when the Rangers were two...

The Pentagon is planning to open the ranks of the Navy SEALs, the Army's elite Ranger units and other specialized combat outfits to female soldiers for the first time, according to reports. The first opportunity female soliders will have to join the military's elite combat units will be with the Navy, according to Pentagon plans outlining the transition, obtained by the Associated Press on Monday. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel could officially announce plans to expand access to those units as soon as Tuesday, according to the AP. Hagel's pending announcement builds upon former Pentagon chief Leon Panetta's decision in January...

They were not to be called Commandos. The Brits had dibs on that name. And they had earned it. Our special forces would train in Northern Ireland at the start of the Second World War, and while they might have British trainers and instructors, they'd have to be called something else. The brass would choose a name. They chose Rangers. This outfit would also need a commander. More than a commander -- a leader, one who understood that this special force would have to be, well, special. Its members would always take the offensive, springing on the enemy as if...

WASHINGTON — Army leaders have begun to study the prospect of sending female soldiers to the service's prestigious Ranger school — another step in the effort to broaden opportunities for women in the military. Gen. Raymond Odierno, Army chief of staff, said Wednesday that he's asked senior commanders to provide him with recommendations and a plan this summer. And while he stressed that no decisions have been made, he suggested that Ranger school may be a logical next step for women as they move into more jobs closer to the combat lines. "If we determine that we're going to allow...

Josh Hamilton tied a Major League record when he hit four home runs against the Orioles on Tuesday night, and Netali Feliz allowed one run over six innings as the Rangers won their second straight with a 10-3 victory at Camden Yards. Hamilton is the 16th Major League player to hit four in one game and the first since Carlos Delgado did it on Sept. 25, 2003, for the Toronto Blue Jays. He also set an American League record with 18 total bases. He had a double in his other at-bat to tie a Major League record for extra-base hits....

Is Sean Avery done with hockey? Avery said Monday night during an After Show segment of Bravo TV's Watch What Happens Live that he was leaving the game. When asked about his hockey future, Avery said, "I am officially retired. I threw my skates in the Hudson." If true, the announcement would close out a tumultuous final season for Avery spent with the New York Rangers and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Connecticut Whale. After being waived by the Rangers earlier this season, Avery was assigned to the Whale before re-joining New York on Nov. 5. In 15 games...

Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton said Wednesday that he's committed to figuring out why he had another alcohol relapse and is undergoing what he called a "Josh Hamilton makeover." Hamilton appeared on "Glenn Beck" on GBTV.com with guest host Dr. James Robison, Hamilton's pastor with LIFE Outreach, a Christian ministry based in Euless, Texas. The slugger, who told Robison he's going to "one-on-one" counseling sessions, said when he had his last relapse, in January 2009 in Tempe, Ariz., that he thought things would be fine and that he'd get on with his life. *snip* On Wednesday, in his first one-on-one...

An East Texas man with a prolific cattle rustling history spanning more than a decade has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for swindling bovines from a Mississippi rancher. Carl Wade Curry, 44 from Athens was accused of stealing 400 head of cattle worth more than $200,000 last year. District Attorney Staley Heatly says Curry placed an order with a Mississippi man using a fake name and cattle company in Vernon, where the owner shipped the cattle. The owner contacted authorities when he didn't receive payment. A jury in Hardeman County took less than 30 minutes to both convict...

ARLINGTON, Texas - Longtime Twins closer Joe Nathan and the Texas Rangers agreed Monday night to a two-year contract with a club option for 2014, a move that means Rangers closer Neftali Feliz will shift to the starting rotation. "We look at this as almost like two acquisitions," general manager Jon Daniels said. The two-time defending American League champions had discussed moving Feliz into the rotation last spring, but the timing wasn't right then. Daniels said being able to sign Nathan made that move easier now. It also would help offset the loss of free-agent starter C.J. Wilson if the...

Ever since his Texas Rangers collapsed over the final two games of the World Series last week, Nolan Ryan says he hasn't watched the disappointing replay of David Freese's(notes) triple sailing over Nelson Cruz's(notes) head in the ninth inning of Game 6. He doesn't plan to, either. But while Ryan concedes he may accidentally see the replay while watching something else, everyone's favorite fireballer says he's going to make dang sure that another highlight won't be played when the Chicago White Sox come to opening day at Rangers Ballpark next April. With FOX broadcaster Joe Buck echoing his father's well-known call by saying, "We will see you tomorrow night," after the Cardinals' epic 10-9 win over the Rangers in Game 6 of the World Series on Thursday, it conjured memories of the Twins' win in similar fashion over the Braves in Game 6 of the 1991 World Series. It was legendary broadcaster Jack Buck who famously said, "And we'll see you tomorrow night," after Twins center fielder Kirby Puckett launched a solo homer to lead off the bottom of the 11th inning at the Metrodome to send the Series to a...
