Congress is set to consider new legislation that would block the Obama administration from awarding Iran billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars in what many describe as a ransom payment, according to a copy of the legislation obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) will introduce on Tuesday new legislation that would prohibit the Obama administration from moving forward with all payments to Iran, according to the bill, which would also force Iran to return billions of dollars in U.S. funds that have already been delivered to Tehran by the White House. Rubio’s bill—a version of which...

The State Department issued a warning to US citizens advising them to avoid foreign travel for the "foreseeable future." The warning was sparked by what the Department characterized as "an unfortunate misunderstanding of a recent multi-million dollar payment to Iran." "We thought we were paying off an amount due Iran from the cancellation of the Shah's 1979 purchase of jet fighters," explained Payton Moore, Undersecretary for Islamic Relations. "The government of Iran thought we were paying ransom for four Americans they were holding prisoner until a plane delivering the $400 million in cash arrived in their country. Now the Iranian...

Truncated title. Full title: President Obama Said Pallet of Cash to Iran Because “Wire Transfers Not Available” – Records Indicate Wire Transfers Two Days Later When the discussion of possible ransom payments to Iran surfaced, everyone was wondering why the U.S. State Department sent pallets of assorted cash currency, totaling $400 million to Iran on January 17th 2016. The same day the hostages were released. On August 4th President Obama held a press conference to discuss the controversy and denied it was a “ransom payment” (see video). Specifically, to answer the question of “why cash“, President Obama said:

Why the Obama administration is refusing to say where the funds ended up.It appears that when it comes to its dealings with the Islamic Republic, the Obama administration’s miscues are boundless. The latest fiasco involves the recent transfer of $1.3 billion in taxpayer money to Iran’s mullahs. Both the White House and the State Department are shamefully unable or unwilling to provide the public with any pertinent information concerning the transfer. At a State Department briefing, spokesman Mark Toner remained opaque and evasive about the transaction and said that he did not know who in Iran received the money. Nor...

The State Department issued a warning on Monday urging U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to Iran, which has made the detention of American a priority. The latest travel advisory, which emphasizes Iran’s desire to capture U.S. citizens, comes on the heels of a growing scandal over the Obama administration’s decision to pay Iran $400 million in cash on the same day that it freed several U.S. hostages. The payment has been cast by lawmakers and others as a ransom payment and prompted increasing concern among U.S. officials that Iran is making arresting Americans a priority. The travel warning is mean...

Around and around they go at the State Department…where the truth is, nobody knows… This week the Obama Administration and the State Department had to admit that our payment of $400 million dollars in unmarked Swiss Francs strangely coincided with the release of four Americans held hostage by the Iranians. To put out a media firestorm with more smoke and embers than a Southern California wildfire, the State Department rolled out their affable, squirrely spokesman, recently retired Rear Admiral John Kirby. Kirby is the Mister Rogers of the Beltway, who is sorely lacking in one trait that Mister Rogers emanated;...

Remember the Obama administration's preposterous spin on Iran's release of four American hostages on the exact same day that an unmarked cargo plane loaded with US-arranged cash landed in Tehran? That money wasn't a ransom, they insisted, and how dare you suggest otherwise? There was no quid pro quo, we were imperiously informed, and any allegation to the contrary was right-wing conspiratorial garbage, fomented by domestic "crazies" who make "common cause" with Iran's anti-American zealots.  "No linkage." The biggest problem with this insulting tale -- setting aside all of the hilariously obvious circumstantial evidence -- was that the Iranians were openly boasting about the...

Looks like the Obama administration LIED AGAIN!

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The State Department says a $400 million cash payment to Iran was contingent on the release of American prisoners. Spokesman John Kirby says negotiations over the United States' returning Iranian money from a decades-old account was conducted separately from the prisoner talks. But he says the U.S. withheld delivery of the cash as leverage until the U.S. citizens had left Iran. Both events occurred Jan. 17. Kirby spoke after The Wall Street Journal reported that the departures of the crisscrossing planes were linked.

For the self-described "most transparent administration ever" it appears keeping the lies straight is becoming harder and harder. Having slammed the press, Donald Trump, and anyone who dare mention the "lack of logic" in paying a $400 million ransom for 4 Iran hostages, WSJ reports that Treasury officials have confirmed that Obama lied and in fact, the tightly scripted exchange of cash was specifically timed to the release of several American prisoners held in Iran. Trump was right again. As a reminder, The Hill reported that, President Obama chastised the press for their coverage of the payment, noting that the...

U.S. Held Cash Until Iran Freed Prisoners An Iranian cargo plane left Geneva with $400 million in cash after a flight with Americans aboard took off from Tehran in January By Jay Solomon and Carol E. Lee Aug. 17, 2016 5:27 p.m. ET WASHINGTON—New details of the $400 million U.S. payment to Iran earlier this year depict a tightly scripted exchange specifically timed to the release of several American prisoners held in Iran, based on accounts from U.S. officials and others briefed on the operation. U.S. officials wouldn't let Iranians take control of the money until a Swiss Air Force...

The $400 million cash payment to the Iranians that coincided with the release of four detained Americans in January was met with objections by the Department of Justice. Why? Well, because it'll look like a ransom payment (via WSJ): John Carlin, a Senate-confirmed administration appointee, raised concerns when the State Department notified Justice officials of its plan to deliver to Iran a planeful of cash, saying it would be viewed as a ransom payment, these people said. A number of other high-ranking Justice officials voiced similar concerns as the negotiations proceeded, they said. The U.S. paid Iran $400 million in cash on...

Sunday on CBS Miami’s “Facing South Florida With Jim DeFede,” Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) said she couldn’t guarantee the money the Obama administration gave to Iran as part of the nuclear deal wouldn’t go to financing terror attacks. DeFede asked, “Can you guarantee that none of that money will end up financing Hamas, Hezbollah, the Taliban in sticks against Israel?”

Questions continue to linger about the Obama administration’s decision to deliver $400 million in pallets of foreign currency flown to Iran aboard an unmarked jetliner the same day five American hostages were released from Iranian custody. The State and Treasury Departments both told Breitbart News that the U.S. government transferred the remaining $1.3 billion, which was part of the same settlement for which the $400 million was an initial payment in January. However, despite numerous requests, neither State nor Treasury would provide an answer on how the Obama administration allegedly transferred to Iran the remaining $1.3 billion.

The Islamic Republic of Iran was designated a state sponsor of terrorism in 1984. That move came several years after Iran had seized American hostages while demanding $24 billion in cash and gold to be paid into a Muslim bank for their release. The total, according to Secretary of State Muskie, came out to $480 million per hostage.

As the debate rages over whether the payment of $400 million to Iran was a ransom to secure the release of four Americans being held prisoner by Iranian authorities, our analysis of the behavior exhibited by President Barack Obama in explaining the payment suggests that it was almost certainly a...

As Obama Pays Ransom, Iran Jails More Americans Why the Mullahs are taking more Americans as hostages. August 9, 2016 Dr. Majid Rafizadeh Iran is quietly arresting American citizens and taking them as hostages in order to utilize them as pawns for extracting economic concessions or receiving political and financial gains. President Obama and his administration have played a crucial role in encouraging Iran to conduct such nefarious actions. In the most egregious example, a recent report revealed that, according to U.S. and European officials and congressional staff who were briefed, “The Obama administration secretly organized an airlift of $400 million...

Retired Navy SEAL and former Blackwater CEO Erik Prince addressed the controversy surrounding President Obama’s secret $400 million payment to Iran on Monday’s edition of Breitbart News Daily with SiriusXM host Stephen K. The president hoped to camouflage what he knew to be against the law in his dealings with Iran.  Did it ever occur to President Obama to ask why he couldn’t just cut a check to the Iranian regime? Outrage broke out this week over the revelation that Obama arranged to ship the mullahs piles of cash, worth $400 million and converted into foreign denominations, reportedly in an unmarked cargo plane. The hotly debated question was whether the payment, which the administration attributes to a 37-year-old arms deal, was actually a ransom paid for the release of American hostages...
