  • The end is near for RG III, Redskins

The Redskins will say they're not giving up on Robert Griffin III, that he can be developed, that he can still become the quarterback they hoped he would be -- and expected him to be -- when they gave up four draft picks for him in 2012. It's hard to believe them. Everything else suggests this is the end for Griffin in Washington.

Robert Griffin III has left the Washington Redskins game after getting hit while throwing an interception late in their game against the Broncos. With Washington trailing 38-21, Griffin dropped straight back and was hit hard by Denver nose tackle Terrance Knighton. The ball floated up in the air and was intercepted by safety Raheem Moore.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III took to Twitter on Tuesday to complain about the “tyranny of political correctness” he believes is holding American culture “hostage.” “In a land of freedom we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness,” the NFL player wrote on his official Twitter account. He followed up the post with a definition of the word, writing: “Tyranny- ‘a condition imposed by some outside agency or forceThe Twitter commentary comes as some are pushing the NFL to change the Redskins team name due to the racial implications of the Native American moniker. Additionally, NBA player...

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III on Tuesday complained about the “tyranny of political correctness” currently holding Americans “hostage.” His comments, posted on his official Twitter account, come as some people are demanding the Redskins change their team name because of its “racist” meaning. “In a land of freedom we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness,” Griffin tweeted. The comment may seem innocent, but it was enough to send the left into a frenzy, as noted on Twitchy. Several of the criticisms hurled at Griffin seemingly accuse the QB of not knowing the definition of “tyranny.” Because...

So, Washington football fans, how’s that offensive team name and demeaning sports mascot working out? Whooping and hollering as RGIII goes on a “Redskins” warpath only to leave a trail of tears when his wounded knee gets buried at FedEx Field. In this obscene home team sports fantasy, the gifted Robert Griffin III was reduced to a “noble savage.” Let the “Redskin” play hurt. He can take it. Hail to the young brave-hearted quarterback as he limps into battle on that injured knee. Three cheers as he fights on his one good leg for Old D.C.

t hasn’t been a great 24 hours for Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. The rookie captain wasn’t able to finish Sunday’s playoff loss to the Seahawks after his knee buckled midway through the fourth quarter. The Redskins were eliminated, 24-14 and questions of whether or not head coach Mike Shanahan should have pulled Griffin dominated sports pages and media Monday. And then Rob Parker re-emerged. Sunday morning, hours before the Redskins playoff game, the suspended ESPN host talked exclusively with WDIV-TV’s Devin Scillian on the station’s weekly community affairs program ‘Flashpoint.’ Parker said his ‘cornball brother’ comments were taken out...

The MRI exam of Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III’s right knee suggested that Griffin has suffered partial tears of his anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments, according to several people with knowledge of the test results. Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said Griffin is scheduled to be examined Tuesday in Pensacola, Fla., by orthopedic surgeon James Andrews to determine whether the test results show new or previous injuries. It was not immediately clear whether surgery would be required or how long Griffin would be sidelined if the partial ligament tears are determined to be fresh injuries. Griffin suffered a torn ACL...

"[J]ust when we were finally starting to forget about those asinine comments [Rob] Parker made about Robert Griffin III on ESPN First Take about a month ago—and just as Parker was about to finish up his 30-day suspension from the Worldwide Leader—he's come out and, in a way, tried to defend what he said once again," Chris Yuscavage of Complex.com reported today. "During an interview on a program called Flashpoint on Channel 4 in Detroit over the weekend, Parker talked about the backlash he received after calling RGIII a 'cornball brother' and didn't seem all that contrite about what he'd...

Robert Griffin III couldn't run, at least not in any way resembling his usual sprints through the line and into open turf. Robert Griffin III couldn't throw, at least not the deep darts that move the chains and keep defenses honest. Robert Griffin III couldn't lead the Washington Redskins' offense, not after his knee buckled in the first quarter of this NFC wild-card game against Seattle. A couple plays later Washington took a two-touchdown lead but the deal was done. It would gain just 41 yards over the next two and a half futile quarters with Griffin as quarterback, all...

Separate incidents in entertainment news last week highlighted just how deeply blacks are in thrall to the divisive racism of identity politics. First, ESPN commentator Rob Parker raised viewers’ eyebrows with his astounding musings about Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III on the show First Take. Parker, who is black, openly questioned whether the black “RG3” is black enough: Is he a ‘brother,’ or is he a ‘cornball brother’? He’s not really… he’s black, he kinda does his thing, but he’s not really down with the cause. He’s not one of us. He’s kinda black, but he’s not really, like,...

ESPN has suspended Rob Parker indefinitely for his racially charged spew on Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III. "Following yesterday's comments Rob Parker has been suspended until further notice. We are conducting a full review," Mike Soltys, an ESPN spokesman said in a statement. Which means this case is far from being closed. A "full" and further review would seek to find out who knew what before the show aired. Did Parker tell the producers of "First Take" that he was going to offer his spiel on RGIII? That's a question that needs to be answered.

By now, this won't be a surprise to anyone: Baylor's Robert Griffin III is going to win the Heisman Trophy. By our reckoning, he's going to get approximately 2000 points - 71% of a perfect unanimous #1 vote. (This year, 2781 points is perfect.) That total would rank Griffin among the top 15 all-time biggest winners of the Heisman Trophy - roughly on par with Tim Tebow (70.5%) and Doug Flutie (71.1%).
