“Well-trained … ninjas” from Chile are burglarizing wealthy Americans in the Detroit, Michigan, suburbs after using the Visa Waiver Program to get into the United States, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard says. In an interview with FOX 2 Detroit, Bouchard sounded the alarm yet again on the rise of foreign burglary gangs from South America operating across the U.S. — including in the Detroit suburbs where wealthy residents are being targeted for their money, jewelry, and designer handbags.

CHICAGO (CBS)– Dozens of stores, banks and other businesses were broken into across downtown Chicago overnight. The unrest started around 11 p.m. Sunday and cause of the unrest is still unknown at this time, but it does appear to be a coordinated effort. Apparently roast beef sandwiches weren’t enough for this winner. A Florida Man is accused of stealing $1450 that was being counted by an Arby’s cashier. The man, Christopher Merrick, told police that the money “was like calling out to me” before he grabbed it. He walked into a closed Arby’s in as a female worker was counting the cash for her cash drawer. When the employee walked away from the counter, Merrick, grabbed the cash and ran out of the store. Merrick ran into a nearby McDonald’s and hid in the women’s bathroom.

An Eau Claire man will be sentenced Oct. 14 for robbing a convenience store in April. Patrick W. Grollo told police at the time of the crime he "needed beer real bad" but made "a bad mistake." Grollo, 52, pleaded no contest Wednesday in Eau Claire County Court to an amended felony count of robbery with threat or use of force. A misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer was dismissed. Judge Paul Lenz ordered a pre-sentence investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Lenz could sentence Grollo to up to 10 years in prison. ORLANDO, Fla. -- Four men in Orlando were charged with a hate crime after they pummeled a 62-year-old woman and her two mentally-challenged companions at a public park after they didn't pay a "fee" for being white, police said. Investigators said the victims were walking into a Kaley Park when they were confronted by Christopher Colbert, Erick Golden, Willie Pritts and Antoniette Boone. Police said the victims were told that since they are white, they had to pay a fee to be in the park.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested Joy Renee Parada, 31, Wednesday in connection with the robbery of an 89-year-old woman who was dragged alongside a car earlier this month.
