A Florida resident was identified Friday as the suspect who sent a dozen pipe bomb packages to prominent critics of President Donald Trump, several law enforcement officials said. DNA evidence played a role in the arrest of Cesar Sayoc, Jr., 56, the officials said. Sayoc's white van, which had pictures of Trump and the presidential seal plastered to the windows, was seized by the officials and hauled off to a secure facility. Federal authorities arrested a man in Florida on Friday suspected of sending at least a dozen parcel bombs to high-profile critics of U.S. President Donald Trump days ahead of congressional elections, officials said. The man was taken into custody in the parking lot of an AutoZone store in Plantation, near Fort Lauderdale, where two witnesses told Reuters they heard a loud blast at the time of the arrest. Local television stations showed investigators using a large blue tarp to cover a white van that was plastered with decals and stickers, before removing it on a truck.

The man arrested Friday on suspicion of mailing a dozen pipe bombs to President Trump's political enemies formerly worked as a male stripper, his former employer told the Washington Examiner. Event promoter Tony Valentine said he hired Cesar Sayoc in the 1990s to strip on multiple occasions in Ohio and that Sayoc traveled the country for similar appearances.
