I’ll keep this short. I’m against gun control. Why? We tried it in Australia. By punishing law abiding citizens, we empowered criminals. Australia was safer in the 1950s when guns were treated as tools. But I digress. Here’s another unique pro-gun argument made by the satirist P.J. O’Rourke in 2010’s Don’t Vote! It Just Encourages The B******s (page 165, if you must know): Gun ownership is crucial to the preservation of American freedoms. We may have to shoot Democrats. It happened in 1861 and it could happen again. Just kidding. Sort of. But there are other important arguments in favor...

I think David Hogg shares more than a passing resemblance to Audie Murphy, war hero. I think it would be a great meme about character or something, if somebody could do the honours.

Since the Parkland school shootings, police in Broward County have seized guns from private citizens more often than any county in Florida. As of Thursday, police had obtained 34 court orders under a new law that allows guns to be taken from people considered at risk of harming themselves or others.

Every time there is a mass shooting we get the same old song and dance from the gun control fanatics. You’re sorry this happened? Then you must institute gun control. Oh, you don’t want to do that? Then it’s your fault that it happened. The NRA is bad. They kill people. We must have gun control. Innocent law-abiding Americans are responsible. Don’t you feel bad for the victims? Then institute our gun control agenda that will do nothing to stop the killings. It’s hamhanded, relentless propaganda peddled by smug, self-righteous anti-gun zealots.Well, here are some things you don’t typically see...

The Florida high school student who made a racist sign asking his girlfriend to the prom has issued a profuse apology. His family issued a more profuse apology. But the promposal brouhaha is forcing him to forgo all the rest of his high school activities — a decision made in conjunction with the high school administration. There will be no prom, no graduation experience or anything else for him. So, quite a lot of consequences and punishment for a racist, but likely just stupid teenage boy stunt to get a girl. Lesson learned, move on, right? We all know that...

A survey by the Centers for Disease Control on defensive gun use (DGU) in the United States that shows DGU happening more regularly than gun crimes has never been publicized.Gary Kleck, a Florida State criminologist, conducted his own study of DGU and his results mirror those of the CDC.The Daily Caller: CDC’s data, collected a few years after Kleck’s survey, appears to corroborate his findings, Reason.com reported. The question asked in the CDC survey addressed the use or threatened use of a firearm to deter a crime. “During the last 12 months, have you confronted another person with a firearm, even...

Parents of Parkland gun control advocates David Hogg and Cameron Kasky assured the media Tuesday that their sons are not homosexual with one another. Here is a photo that Cameron Kasky posted to Twitter, referring to “Prom 2018,” which created a situation in which the young adults’ parents had to clear up gay rumors. Hogg’s activist mother Rebecca Boldrick said that Hogg is not going to prom with Kasky as his date, and Kasky’s father also weighed in on the issue, according to TMZ. “Cameron and David love each other very much, as do the 20 or so other kids...

Kyle Kashuv is a Parkland student who, just like Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg, was at Douglas High School the day Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 of his classmates. Unlike Gonzalez and Hogg and many other Douglas survivors, Kashuv has been a lone, persistent student voice in favor of gun rights and the Second Amendment. Despite his support for the right to keep and bear arms, Kashuv didn’t own a firearm and had never fired one. That changed over the weekend when he went to a range with his father. He tweeted stills and video of the range session. As...

Former president Barack Obama is a man who exhibits selective outrage based upon how a tragedy can benefit advancing the utopian vision.  If an event includes changing "the world as it is" into the world Obama thinks it "should be," the former president will commend whomever he has to. With that in mind, recently, via a piece written for Time magazine entitled "Cameron Kasky, Jaclyn Corin, David Hogg, Emma Gonzalez and Alex Wind," Obama praised the five Parkland student-activists who made Time's 100 Most Influential People list. The former president wrote, "America's response to mass shootings has long followed a predictable pattern."  Obama's article...

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, who touted his own “amazing leadership” after the Parkland school shooting, is facing a no-confidence vote from the union representing his deputies. Jeff Bell, the president of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association, told CNN on Friday that union members had decided to move forward with the vote, which will begin electronically tonight and will close on April 26. “There is a complete failure at the sheriff’s office and he doesn’t recognize it,” Bell said. Calling the vote a “ploy,” Israel said the union “is trying to use the Parkland tragedy as a bargaining tactic...

Parkland school shooting survivor and Second Amendment advocate Kyle Kashuv flew to Nebraska to take Fidan Ibrahimova to the prom after she reached out to him on Twitter. Ibrahimova explained that Kashuv caught her eye because he went against the grain, remaining pro-gun in a post-Parkland world where voice after voice is spewing anti-gun sentiment.

Gun control proponent David Hogg is pushing a boycott of mutual fund companies invested in firearm manufacturer stocks. This follows his boycott of Fox News’s Laura Ingraham, which resulted in her initially losing advertisers and apologizing to him only to have her viewership jump 20 percent. Now Hogg is targeting BlackRock, Vanguard Group, and a few other mutual fund companies for holding gun manufacturers’ stock in their mutual funds. Hogg tweeted:

Iranian-backed militants are operating across the United States mostly unfettered, raising concerns in Congress and among regional experts that these "sleeper cell" agents are poised to launch a large-scale attack on the American homeland, according to testimony before lawmakers. Iranian agents tied to the terror group Hezbollah have already been discovered in the United States plotting attacks, giving rise to fears that Tehran could order a strike inside America should tensions between the Trump administration and Islamic Republic reach a boiling point. Intelligence officials and former White House officials confirmed to Congress on Tuesday that such an attack is not...

A spokeswoman for the hardware chain told The Wrap the company had “incomplete information” when it decided to stop advertising on “The Ingraham Angle.” Ace was among numerous companies that fled Ingraham’s show after she mocked David Hogg, a survivor of the February mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, that left 17 people dead. “Advertising on any network or show, is in no way an endorsement from Ace of the content contained or spoken within that program,” the Ace spokeswoman said in a statement. “We appreciate the different points of view from our customers, and...

An Illinois technocrat has demonstrated the Progressive attitude about the Constitution and the Second Amendment. Representative Bill Foster has a PhD in Physics from Harvard. He was raised and earned his Bachelor degree in ultra-liberal Madison, Wisconsin. In his view, the Constitution is a document that can be re-interpreted to mean different things every few years. That is true in a sense. Amendments to the Constitution can be put forward and passed any time. It is clear a constitutional amendment is not what Representative Foster is talking about. From chicagotribune.com: Flanked by two area high school students, a pediatrician...

The district said it spent $1,800 on the 16-inch wooden bats. The bats are not quite the same size used in baseball games. Typical baseball bats are at least 30 inches long.
