CPD’s Vehicular Hijacking Task Force spotted a stolen vehicle parked at an auto cleaning service in the 800 block of South Cicero Avenue. Officers approached the 24-year-old driver as he got out of the vehicle, but he ran into the street and was struck and killed by a passing vehicle, according to a statement from CPD.

A man killed in a car accident on US-223 in Whiteford Township has been linked to a homicide involving his girlfriend whose body was found in the couple’s home outside of Howell the same day. The Monroe and Livingston County sheriff’s offices have been working together on the case that developed Monday afternoon. CHURCHILL COUNTY, Nev. -- At least two people were killed and about 20 others were injured in a fiery collision between a Sacramento-bound Amtrak train and a semitrailer on a rural northern Nevada highway. Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Lopez said the truck driver and one person on the train were killed in the 11:25 a.m. Friday accident about 70 miles east of Reno. He says an unknown number of other people on the train were injured and are being taken by ambulances to the hospital.
