Colorado U.S. Senate candidate Darryl Glenn says he was defending his mother against an abusive father in a 1983 altercation that led to a misdemeanor assault charge against Glenn. Glenn, the Republican challenger to Democrat Michael Bennet, had previously denied he was arrested when asked about the charge by The Denver Post, which reported his statement on Thursday. The charge against the then-18-year-old Glenn was dropped. Glenn said he did not remember the incident until he spoke this week to his mother about it.

He thinks it’s too much — even though he owns America’s most expensive single-family house! The former U.S. Senate wannabe took advantage of his presence at the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland to tell a worldwide audience via Bloomberg News that we, the common people, need to have fewer things. ... Greene is also known in these parts for making contractors who work on his $36 million-,...

Congressman Todd Aikin, the GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate from Missouri should withdraw from the Missouri Senate Race immediately over his stupid statement he made today re: "legitimate rape". To not do so, will assure six more years for Claire McKaskill in the U.S. Senate. What he said, in essence, when asked about abortion, was that a "legitimate rape" rarely causes pregnancy. Now, that comment is going viral over the internet. I witnessed, first-hand, in 1990 how a "rape gaffe" by GOP candidate for Governor of Texas, Clayton Williams, who had a wide lead in the polls at the...

Harris visits Iraq hot zones Congresswoman says infrastructure improvements and Iraqi-American cooperation are most noticeable changes. During a recent trip to Iraq, U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris, R-Longboat Key, met one-on-one with a small group of Florida soldiers in the Middle East. Harris said one soldier told her to let the military experts fight the war and decide when to withdraw troops. "He told me, 'Don't take us out before we can finish;" Harris said. "That is the one thing the troops say when I am alone with them:' The five-day trip to Iraq, Israel and Jordan reaffirmed the pro-war congresswoman's...

Kerry, Salazar to campaign together in Pueblo Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry is planning his sixth visit to Colorado, this time to hold a rally in Pueblo on Saturday with Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Ken Salazar. It will be the first appearance together for Kerry and Salazar. The failure of the two to campaign together has been questioned by Republicans. Political experts say Salazar has been better off going it alone in a state where Republicans and unaffiliated voters each outnumber Democrats. President Bush has campaigned several times with Salazar's Republican rival, Pete Coors, and held a fundraiser. Salazar's spokesman,...

WASHINGTON (AP) - GOP Senate hopeful Bill Jones said Friday that incumbent Barbara Boxer shouldn't be criticizing President Bush over the war on terror, contending that Boxer herself failed to focus on terrorism prior to Sept. 11, 2001. Boxer, D-Calif., chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's subcommittee on international operations and terrorism for several months before the terror attacks on New York and Washington. Shortly after taking over as chairwoman she was quoted as saying she planned to have hearings focused on women, children and other issues. "If we're going to dissect one memo in August that the president reviewed...

LAFAYETTE -- Dr. John Cooksey, Republican congressman and U.S. Senate candidate, said Wednesday that more evidence of terrorist involvement is needed to justify a U.S. attack against Iraq. "With the intelligence information I have, I'm a little reluctant to go in and do indiscriminate bombing or even smart bombing," Cooksey told the Lafayette Chapter of the American Association of Drilling Engineers. He said his reluctance is because of the likelihood of civilian casualties. "I don't want to go in and kill a lot of innocent people," he said. Cooksey said he worked as an eye doctor in Africa, treating victims...
