While many colleges bar discrimination against gay people, many religious colleges do not, because their anti-bias regulations do not cover sexual orientation. Seton Hall University, a Roman Catholic institution, is an exception. Its anti-bias policy specifically covers sexual orientation. And that set the stage for an unusual legal dispute over the university’s right to assert its religious identity in denying recognition to a gay student group. A New Jersey court had been poised to allow a suit against the university go forward. But an appeals court ruled Wednesday that Seton Hall was within its rights to deny recognition to the...

Being a female Junior at Seton Hall University, I am constantly bombarded by anti-feminine ideologies. Between liberal professors and administration, it is very hard to embrace the dignity of being a woman. It is often stereotyped here that if a woman doesn't provide the main income in her household, pushing around her man... then she has given in to being barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen. After searching for a positive Female Role model, I came across the renowned Dr. Alice von Hildebrand. I was also able, through Campus Ministry, to get her on Campus to speak on "The Privilege...

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) _ A gay student group is fighting for recognition at Seton Hall University, where administrators say it contradicts the Roman Catholic school's religious mission.
