ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Dec. 22) - Snowzilla is no more. Municipal officials in Anchorage have given a cease-and-desist order to builders of the giant snowman that made appearances the last three years in an east Anchorage neighborhood. The giant snowman was a favorite for photographers and camera crews from Russia and Japan filmed the temporary sculpture. Snowzilla in 2005 rose 16 feet. He had a corncob pipe and a carrot nose and two eyes made out of beer bottles.

KATHMANDU (Reuters) - A U.S.-based television channel investigating the existence of the legendary Yeti in Nepal has found footprints similar to those said to be that of the abominable snowman, the company said on Friday. A team of nine producers from Destination Truth, armed with infrared cameras, spent a week in the icy Khumbu region where Mount Everest is located and found the footprints on the bank of Manju river at a height of 2,850 meters (9,350 feet). A globe-trotting inflatable snowman who disappeared from a garden last Christmas has sent postcards to its owner from exotic destinations around the world. The 5ft blow-up snowman, who signs his name Frosty, went missing from Helen Bevan's back garden two weeks before Christmas last year. Since then Mrs Bevan, 42, of Tondu, south Wales, has received postcards from Tenerife, Antigua, Thailand, Mexico, Malaysia and Hong Kong, all signed with the words "all my love, Frosty".
