General Hospital star Stuart Damon has died aged 84, his son has confirmed. The actor, who devoted over 30 years of his life to playing Dr. Alan Quartermaine on ABC's General Hospital and spinoff Port Charles, had been battling renal failure over the past few years. Stuart's son Christopher announced his passing to ABC7 reporter George Pennacchio and said General Hospital was his father's 'favourite place to be'.

Ten senior members of North Korea’s ruling party have been executed after they were caught watching soap operas. The officials were killed on the order of dictator Kim Jong-Un, taking the number of senior government and military members executed this year to 50, South Korea's intelligence agency have said. The ten were ‘executed by firing squad for watching South Korean soap operas, bribery or womanising’.

Less is more, according to New Hampshire lawmakers debating whether to ban the use of scented or fragrant soaps by state employees. Under House Bill 1444, state workers who interact with the public would be prohibited from wearing fragrances or scented products while on the job, MyFoxBoston reported.
