During his indoctrination into the “Religion of Peace” Bowe Bergdahl, who has now been charged with desertion, was taught about the Islamic way of life. Here is what Islam says about various topics. TORTURE Qur’an 5-33 says, “The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and His Prophet and make mischief in the land, is to murder them, crucify them, or cut off a hand and foot on opposite sides…their doom is dreadful. They will not escape the fire, suffering constantly.” TERRORISM Qur’an:8:12 “Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: ‘I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them...

The fiancee of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez will be called to testify in his murder trial Friday, two people with knowledge of the matter told The Associated Press. Shayanna Jenkins was granted immunity by the court in February, which means she can be compelled to testify or face time behind bars. There had been a question over whether prosecutors would call Jenkins, who has been in a relationship with Hernandez, 25, since high school and is the mother of his 2-year-old daughter.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported Wednesday that retail sales clerk and cashier were the two largest occupations in the United States in May 2014, with their numbers increasing slightly since 2013. In its annual report on wages and occupational employment, the BLS found that 4.6 million Americans worked in retail sales while 3.4 million more worked as cashiers, making up almost six percent of total U.S. employment. The two job categories increased by a combined 400,000 workers since 2012. Retail workers made $24,020 a year on average, while cashiers made $20,670, according to the BLS. …

Mandeville Police arrested an Abita Springs woman Wednesday (March 25) who allegedly tried to hide her impregnation through an extramarital affair by crying rape. Gina Louise Causey, 40, was charged with criminal mischief, police said. Causey showed up with her husband at police headquarters Tuesday, spinning a tale of being raped at gunpoint in December 2014 near the Mandeville lakefront, police said. In an interview with detectives, Causey also said the alleged perpetrator was a law enforcement officer who had raped several other women in the area and had now impregnated her. Her tale was an extravagant one - "like...

In the bad old days of New York City, the mob would decide the price of erecting a building regardless of who was planning to do it. Years after the construction of One Police Plaza, the City’s Police Headquarters, when the ceiling of the main floor started to fall down an investigation found that the mob had sold the city substandard concrete. They didn’t care who they ripped off. Hard work led by former Mayor Rudy Giuliani broke the grip of the mob on New York’s construction industry and for years afterward construction boomed because of the reduced costs of...

By now, everybody knows we are in the midst of an epidemic of overweight and obesity in Canada and around the world. There is a horrifying series of maps showing the rate of obesity spreading like a red stain across Canada over the past 30 years. In its latest fact sheet, the World Health Organization reports that “worldwide obesity has nearly doubled since 1980” and that “35 per cent of adults aged 20 and over were overweight in 2008, and 11 per cent were obese.” In Canada, it is much the same. The Public Health Agency of Canada reported in...

I work in a major department store west of the Pittsburgh area and I sold some jewelry to a lady who was buying it foe her grandaughter's tea party. Just to make conversation, I referenced the Tea Party political group. She said how bad they were and Ted Cruz is "too Christian." I asked, "what do you mean by that?" She said, "I'm Catholic and liberal," and I replied, "hopefully if him or someone like him was elected, we can start to fix the damage of the last 7 years." She didn't like it. People like that drive me nuts....

I have noticed that there seems to be more and more posters on FR that have accounts from the 1990's or early 2000's, that are posting a lot more frequently. I can't be the only one that has noticed this. Maybe it was Ted Cruz, I don't know, but I'd like to know that I'm not alone here.

Distractions - especially talking with passengers and using cellphones - play a far greater role in car crashes involving teen drivers than has been previously understood, according to compelling new evidence cited by safety researchers. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety analyzed nearly 1,700 videos that capture the actions of teen drivers in the moments before a crash. It found that distractions were a factor in nearly 60per cent of moderate to severe crashes. That's four times the rate in many previous official estimates that were based on police reports. The study is unusual because researchers rarely have access to...

The man shot and killed by Smyrna police Tuesday after they said he tried to run down officers who went to his Vinings workplace to arrest him had a history of running from police. And, in at least one prior case, he drove a car toward an officer. While police Wednesday had not released the man’s name, his parents came to the scene of the fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon, identified the dead man as Nicholas Taft Thomas and called for the FBI to look into the incident. Felecia Thomas told Channel 2 Action News that her son loved cars and...
  • Bosses can’t get even when staffers gripe on social media

Bosses can get mad when staffers vent on social media about their jobs, but they may not be able to get even. When one of Bert Martinez’ employees posted gripes about her job and the boss on Facebook last year, the publicist consulted his lawyer, who said the staffer couldn’t be fired. “The first lesson I learned is, employees are allowed to vent,” says Martinez, owner of Bert Martinez Communications in Phoenix. “If they're saying, ‘hey, it’s hard working here and I find this environment unpleasant’, you can’t fire them for that.” The employee quit a week after Martinez learned...

U.S. Capitol police on Wednesday arrested seven pro-life protesters while they were praying outside the office of House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). Those arrested, who included prominent pro-life activist and nurse Jill Stanek, were protesting the House Republican leaderships’ failure to call a vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would prohibit aborting an unborn child in or after the 20th week of gestation. The House Republican leadership shelved the bill less than 24 hours before it was set to come up for a vote on Jan. 22 after some Republican congresswomen, led by Rep. Renée Ellmers (R-N.C.)...

Another day, another mega-M&A deal taking advantage of abnormally low bond rates, this time however not involving biotechs or a specialty pharma seeking to purchase a debt-free balance sheet, but one involving the Oracle of Omaha himself, and his Heinz investment, which will merge with Kraft Foods whose market cap was over $40 billion this morning on the news of the merger, and create the third largest food and beverage company in the US, and 5th largest in  the world. And while the resulting company will certainly be an unprecedented food giant, one which leaves the US food industry even...

As part of its annual college rankings, The Princeton Review ranks the US colleges with the most conservative students. While a few of the schools on the list are big sports and party schools, 20% of the colleges in the ranking are military schools. Over half of the most conservative colleges on the list also appeared on the Review's lists of the most religious students, students who are stone cold sober, and students who don't smoke. A whopping 17 of the 20 schools were ranked on The Princeton Review's list of future Rotarians and Daughters of the American Revolution. Texas,...

A Nebraska state senator compared American police to Islamic terrorists and suggested he'd shoot a cop if only he had a weapon. State Sen. Ernie Chambers said during a legislative hearing on March 20 that you don't have to go halfway around the world to find an ISIS mentality. It can be found in America because police terrorize blacks every day. He was referring to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, which has beheaded journalists and brutally executed Westerners and others. "My ISIS is the police," Chambers, an independent, said, adding police can get away with shooting people if...

It is safe to say that most politicians these days could be diagnosed with a range of mental conditions, and many would likely be labeled sociopaths or psychopaths. The terms psychopath and sociopath are often used interchangeably, even by mental health professionals. The symptoms are somewhat consistent between the two: lack of conscience, no moral compass, manipulative, low range of emotions, interpersonally insensitive. The psychopath is deadly. He is well spoken, charismatic, fearless, controlling, socially potent, a habitual liar, calm to a disturbing degree in the face of chaos and cold hearted. He is a master at blaming others. David...
