Children and adolescents should receive age-appropriate and evidence-based education about sex and sexuality from pediatricians, schools, professionals and parents, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. In the U.S., according to the AAP, about one in three adolescents does not receive any information on sexuality from pediatricians. And when the subject does come up between doctors and kids, the average conversation lasts less than 40 seconds, the group says in a new report. "Which means two-thirds of the time it's not discussed at all, and when it is discussed it's such a brief time," said Dr. Cora Breuner ... The...

MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – A Miramar police officer says he was refused service at a Sunoco service station and convenience store. “And here you are just trying to do your job, you effort an arrest. You go inside the store and the clerk won’t serve you,” said Jeff Marano with the Miramar PD. This from the Miramar police officer, who described the clerk as a black male: “[he] walked up to me and asked why we had arrested ‘his boy.’ The individual stated he would not ring me up and stated, ‘you know why.’ I proceeded to ask him again to...

Two-hundred and seventy. That’s the number of Electoral College votes one needs to become the most powerful person on earth. And according to most of the so-called experts, it won’t be Donald Trump. While I agree that he is the underdog, a Trump victory is not impossible. Here’s how it could happen. If this were a typical presidential election, the logical first step would be to pick the most likely combination of states to put the Trump campaign over the 270 threshold. Then you would spend all of your time, energy and resources targeting the battleground states. It has worked...

Here's my favorite speeches so far from the RNC convention: Mitt Romney (I'd pick Ryan again - and again) George W. Bush (I gave Barry the best intro I could!) George HW Bush (Ha! Fooled you twice! - None of us Bushes would EVER be like Reagan!) John McCain (Hillary is a nice woman - just like Barry is a nice man)

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The family of a woman charged with murder after her 6-week-old son drowned in a pond at a Myrtle Beach outlet mall said she was overwhelmed by the challenges of returning to work as a first-time mom and dealing with an abusive boyfriend. Jameisha Alexander was seen holding her son, King, near the pond Saturday night by someone who called security. By the time officers arrived, Alexander was gone and the baby was in the water, according to her arrest warrant.

THE Republican Party is really trying to sell us on the rock ’n’ roll theme of this year’s convention... (Cleveland) It is also the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is on point with an exhibit, “Louder Than Words: Rock, Power and Politics,” about the intersection of rock and politics... Max Espinosa, the exhibit’s curator, admitted that the biggest challenge of putting it together was reconciling the fact that many of the featured musicians don’t like the Republican Party’s agenda. “Rock and roll is a lefty medium,” he said... ...a Frank Zappa quote: “Rock music was...

Any hopes that the nation’s first black president could uplift the nation’s black underclass went up in smoke Sunday when Barack Obama doubled down on his blaming of America’s police for the recent cop massacres that amount, as Heather Mac Donald rightly says, to a war on cops. I argued two decades ago in The Dream and the Nightmare that changes in elite culture during the 1960s had a catastrophic effect on the most disadvantaged Americans in ghetto neighborhoods. That decade’s sexual revolution removed the stigma from out-of-wedlock pregnancy. An explosion of inner-city illegitimacy ensued, with between 70 and 90...

The reality is that in the 2016 election it now takes more than a majority for a Republican to win. Romney, for example, won about two thirds of all precincts nationwide and probably got in the range of 55% of the verifiable vote, but lost the election to nearly unanimous Obama support from nearly 100% turnout of potentially eligible voters in inner city precincts in key states like Ohio, where the certainty of being accused of racism for even thinking you couldn't get that level of turnout for a week of free pizza and beer prevented any form of verification....

No, I don't watch Wendy as a fan. Stuck watching her in a waiting room of sorts. She spent the first ten minutes of what is painfully called her "show" attacking the Trump family.

What is your assessment of contemporary Western Europe, and in particular the EU? All major political parties in Western Europe, regardless of their different names and party programs, are nowadays committed to the same fundamental idea of democratic socialism. They use democratic elections to legitimize the taxing of productive people for the benefit of unproductive people. They tax people, who have earned their income and accumulated their wealth by producing goods or services purchased voluntarily by consumers (and of course especially the “rich” among those), and they then re-distribute the confiscated loot to themselves, i.e., the democratic State that they...

Nickelodeon, the American cable and satellite TV network aimed at kids and teens, has introduced its first animated “gay married” couple. Debuting in The Loud House — a cartoon about Lincoln Loud, an 11-year-old boy with 10 sisters — the scene features a friend coming for a stayover with Lincoln. Lincoln and his chum, Clyde McBride, have been counting down the time to the sleepover, so perhaps that’s why Lincoln announces: “Time to make history!” — before he opens the door to reveal Clyde and his two dads. Owned by Viacom Media Network, Nickelodeon targets children ages 2 to 17....

I happened to catch a jaw-dropping incident on the Fox News Channel air yesterday, as Shepard Smith’s breaking news coverage of the Baton Rouge police ambush brought on Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal for telephone comments. In the course of attempting to heal the raw nerves, Gov. Jindal said “all lives matter” and was rebuked by the crew-cut newsman. Kristinn Taylor of Gateway Pundit captured the exchange:

According to Disney, their theme parks are 'where dreams come true,' but according to recent video footage of one man's visit to the new Shanghai Disneyland, a lot of nightmare manners also surface. In the new YouTube clip, an American-Chinese man called Disney Dwayne takes a tour of the new theme park and points out all of the aspects that he was shocked by during his two-day visit. They included a woman helping a young boy to urinate in a public place, an electrical socket ripped from a wall and children freely playing in an off-limits display area.
