  • I am done, whatever (VANITY)

I am done. This site has broken me. I am as staunch a conservative as you will find. After returning from Iraq, injured and upset, I turned here and found a welcoming community that shared my thoughts. I am a proud Gadsden Flag waiving man of the Tea Party movement. But because I don't think Sarah Palin is as historically important as other GOP women in the past, I am now considered an idiot, a RINO, ass-kisser and whatever negative connotation you can throw my way. This site has changed so much since that dictator want to be became President...

While the title says it all, I thought a goodbye was in order. While I've been a FReeper for well over a decade, I must declare that it is time to part ways. While I have the greatest respect for a great many of you, the days where I can in good conscience remain silent about the issues that set me apart from the rest of FReeperdom have past. For clarity, or perhaps catharsis, I'm not entirely certain which, I'll lay them out on the table an call the ZOT™ down upon myself. The racism: I just can't handle it...

Remember the story of Hansel and Gretel? How the witch of the woods lured them into her edible candy hut and gave them piles and piles of free food—just so she could fatten them up and turn them into stew? Well, think about that old fairy tale the next time a waiter drops a plate of “free” food on your table...

Are there any Freepers who support John McCain? If you support Mr. McCain, can you make the case for your man? Can you make the case without bringing up the War? Can you make the case without bringing up Judges? Can you make the case without using any ACU ratings? (Those don't impress anybody.) Can you make the case without insults or telling people to "calm down"? Can you make the case without the type of lying and dishonesty we've come to expect from John McCain and his special friend Mike Huckabee? Can you make the case without trashing Barack...

Patrick Buchanan, the conservative commentator whose Republican primary challenge and divisive convention speech weakened the first President Bush's campaign for re-election in 1992, is publishing a book excoriating the second President Bush over the invasion of Iraq, just in time to grab a share of the limelight at another Republican convention. In Where the Right Went Wrong, released late last week, Buchanan calls the invasion of Iraq "the greatest strategic blunder in 40 years, a mistake more costly than Vietnam. If prudence is the mark of a conservative, Mr. Bush has ceased to be a conservative," Buchanan wrote. The release...
