Paul Pelosi, Tyre Nichols' parents, U2 star Bono, Monterey Park shooting hero Brandon Tsay, Ukraine's ambassador to the US Oksana Markarova and a Holocaust survivor are among those headed to the US Capitol Tuesday evening where President Joe Biden is set to deliver his State of the Union address. Biden's remarks will both touch on key themes of his presidency and offer a preview of a 2024 reelection message. President Biden seemed extremely happy to take credit for the booming January jobs report, “We have created more jobs in two years than any presidential term within two years. That’s the strongest two years of job growth in history, by a long shot,” Biden boasted. Unfortunately, Biden could not leave well enough alone. Asked by a reporter whether he took responsibility for manufacturing the highest inflation in 40 years, he snapped “Do I take any blame for inflation? No. Because it was already there when I got here, man.”

Cheney, the vice chair of the Jan. 6 committee, is facing a tough election in Wyoming's Republican primary on Aug. 16, where she is polling significantly behind her Trump-endorsed primary opponent for the state's at-large House seat. "I am working hard here in Wyoming to earn every vote, but I will also say this: I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to say things that aren't true about the election. My opponents are doing that, certainly, simply for the purpose of getting elected," Cheney said. "If I have to choose between maintaining a seat in the House of Representatives...

President Joe Biden went after Russian President Vladimir Putin hard during his State of the Union address on Wednesday, but withheld harsh words for Chinese President Xi Jinping — whose goal is for China to supplant the United States as the world’s superpower and whose government was responsible for not controlling the coronavirus outbreak within its borders. ...

Until Democrats are willing to drop truly radical policies like the Equality Act, it’s all smoke and mirrors meant to distract voters.Joe Biden’s ”State of the Union” address clearly marked an attempt by his White House to make their culture war seem like an afterthought. It’s not, of course, as evidenced by the president’s description of abortion as “health care” and his demand that Congress pass the radical Equality Act. But the bulk of Biden’s speech focused on “meat and potatoes,” as Chris Hayes repeatedly claimed during MSNBC’s coverage. It’s true, Biden dedicated much of his address to Ukraine, infrastructure,...

In May 2017, CNN boss Jeff Zucker gave an interview to the "New Yorker Radio Hour" and made waves by proclaiming, "Fox is state-run TV and is extolling the line out of the White House. MSNBC has become the opposition, and I think CNN is seeking the truth." There wasn't a laugh track. In 2022, it's quite obvious that CNN can now be accused of sounding like state-run TV. On Feb. 27, CNN anchor Pamela Brown (whose father, John Brown, served as the Democrat governor of Kentucky) robotically read a Twitter thread from Jill Biden. She introduced it like this:...

Progressive firebrand Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan will be delivering a response to President Biden’s State of the Union address next week. Tlaib, a member of the so-called "Squad" of progressive and diverse Democratic lawmakers in Congress, will give her address on behalf of the left-wing Workers Families Party, the group announced on Wednesday. Tlaib, a two-term lawmaker who made history as the first woman of Palestinian descent in Congress, represents a congressional district that includes parts of Detroit and its inner suburbs. She is expected to praise the president’s stimulus bill and argue that liberals have pushed hard to...

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said Tuesday he does not plan to attend President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union address, happening in one week, because of extraordinarily strict coronavirus measures in place for the event. Cotton is one of at least a few Republicans who have so far expressed intentions to skip the annual joint session address, which takes place in the House chamber. Spokesman James Arnold told Breitbart News, “Nancy Pelosi’s COVID theatrics are a joke and Senator Cotton will not be attending.”

‘How do you explain me?’.. s Republicans consider who ought to be tasked with responding to President Biden’s State of the Union address on March 1, they have the luxury of an obvious, unobjectionable choice whose message speaks to the moment, and to their priorities in 2022: Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor, Winsome Sears. The San Francisco school board recalls are just the latest sign that American voters are fed up with the state of things in almost every arena, but particularly when it comes to school closures, mask and vaccine mandates, and the racial politicization of education. They are tired of...

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is hoping to use his upcoming State of the Union address to nudge the pandemic into the nation’s rear-view mirror. But it could turn into yet another disruptive display of national tensions and frustration over trying to move past COVID-19. The White House has taken extraordinary precautions to keep Biden from getting the virus, including requiring high-quality masks in his vicinity and limiting his travel and participation in large events. A speech to a full House chamber would be by far the densest audience of his presidency to date.

The midterms coming up are quite different. Trump is already very involved, planning on hitting the campaign trail. Are you worried that that will hurt Republicans

During an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, Hogan was asked if he shared Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-Wyo.) view that Trump is an “ongoing threat to American democracy.” “I think he’s toxic for the Republican Party and for the country,” Hogan responded. “And I think we’ve got to find a way to get the Republican Party back to the party of Lincoln and Reagan, get back to the more traditional big-tent party that can appeal to a majority of people.” He added, “Otherwise we simply aren’t going to have control, we’re not going to get the White House...

House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that if the Republican Party removes Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from her leadership role, it would be “classic cancel culture.” Anchor Jake Tapper said, “Let’s talk about the big lie which you just brought up and what’s happening across the aisle in the House. Republicans are set to remove Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney from her leadership role because of her refusal to spread President Trump’s big lie that the election was stolen. These inarguably more conservative than Elise Stefanik poised to replace her. It seems to...
