I'm transferring to a newer computer and having difficulty with various things. I've got everything fixed now except my sound. The computer was working before but I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 and added a new video card to feed 3 monitors, About the time I put the 2nd video card in I noticed the noise in my speakers. I've tried headphones and the noise is there. I've tried USB speakers and the noise is there. I used a Bluetooth speaker and the noise is gone. I've changed the sound drivers 3 times with and older driver and...

Joy Villa's music sales skyrocketed after the singer wore a pro-Trump dress at Sunday night's 59th annual Grammy Awards. When she arrived at the Grammys, Villa flung off a white frock to reveal a gown of patriotic red, white and blue that urged "Make America Great Again" and had "Trump" in sparkly letters on the back hem. The 25-year-old's EP "I Make the Static" jumped to the top of Amazon's top digital paid albums and reached number seven on the iTunes top album chart after her red carpet appearance. "I am 100 percent a Trump supporter. I believe in his...

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is reported to have used a static noise machine on Thursday to block reporters outside of a fundraiser in Denver from hearing her remarks. Stan Bush, a reporter for Denver’s CBS-4, who was stationed outside of the event, reported that the machine was held outdoors at the home of Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, a superdelegate who has endorsed Clinton. Clinton, who was holding a fundraiser Thursday evening in Colorado, was speaking outside at a private residence. Just when she started to speak, campaign staffers directed a speaker spewing out static noise at reporters hanging out across the...

Plenty of politicians promise on the campaign trail to restore an intangible "American Dream," but one outsider Senate candidate is putting his money where his mouth is and offering to make it a reality for a few lucky supporters. John King, a Knoxville businessman and long-shot candidate in Tennessee's Republican Senate primary, is looking to bring attention to his campaign to unseat incumbent Lamar Alexander with an "American Dream Giveaway." Conditional on a highly improbable King victory in the Aug. 7 primary, entrants into the contest could win one of 18 prizes, including a home-starter package, luxury SUVs, and 4x4...

SACRAMENTO – With every budget proposal, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger repeats his mantra. “I will not raise taxes on the people of California because they are already paying enough taxes,” Schwarzenegger said last month as he unveiled his plans to attack a potential $14.5 billion budget gap. Nearly three weeks later, he reiterated that pledge. Speaking to newspaper publishers, Schwarzenegger said, “Raising taxes is out of the question because you can't tax your way out of this problem.” Yet, by substituting fees in lieu of taxes, Schwarzenegger proposes to reach into the pockets of motorists, disabled Medi-Cal recipients and homeowners for...
  • Moon too static for astronauts?

Lunar settlements could face high-voltage sparks.Lunar colonists could be in for a nasty shock — literally. A team of US scientists has found that the Moon's surface can become charged with up to several thousand volts of static electricity1. This charging could release sparks that disable electronic equipment — including monitors, space buggies or even the front door of a Moon base. And it could cause dust clouds that clogs up instruments. What's worse, it can be caused by bad weather in space: just when astronauts need their equipment to give them warning and allow them to shelter from the...

A North Attleboro man faces financial ruin because he built a new home so close to dangerous high-voltage transmission lines that fluorescent bulbs inside the house light up without even being plugged in. The electric currents running through the two-story home are considered so potentially harmful that the town’s fire department has strung “caution” tape around the house while an electrical inspector has refused to issue a final permit out of fear someone might get electrocuted. The home’s metallic door knobs and exterior shingles give off mild electric jolts when touched, while flowing currents are strong enough to light up...

Renewable Energy Problems ? Berlin: A German inventor, who says he has developed a way to make crude fuel oil from paper, rubbish, and plastics has found himself under attack. A local newspaper reporter somehow concluded he was making oil from dead cats ,and the published story set off a geyser of protest. “No, nay, never !” , responds the inventor. “It’s all paper , plastics, and rubbish.” “At worst “, he concedes , “the odd toad may have jumped into the batch.” Sidney: An Australian man, who was wearing a woolen shirt and a nylon/synthetic jacket , is reported...

SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Australian man built up a 40,000-volt charge of static electricity in his clothes as he walked, leaving a trail of scorched carpet and molten plastic and forcing firefighters to evacuate a building. Frank Clewer, who was wearing a woollen shirt and a synthetic nylon jacket, was oblivious to the growing electrical current that was building up as his clothes rubbed together. When he walked into a building in the country town of Warrnambool in the southern state of Victoria on Thursday, the electrical charge ignited the carpet. "It sounded almost like a firecracker", Clewer told Australian...
