A woman who allegedly shouted "Allahu akbar" attacked two people with a box cutter at a supermarket in southern France on Sunday before she was arrested, local media reported. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m. at the supermarket Leclerc in the Mediterranean city of La Seyne-sur-Mer, located near Marseilles. Witnesses told Var-matin the young woman attacked a customer and employee. A failed asylum seeker has been sentenced to life imprisonment for a knife attack at a Hamburg supermarket last July. The Palestinian attacker, Ahmad Alhaw, killed a 50-year-old man and seriously wounded six other people. Alhaw shouted Islamist slogans as he lashed out. A mystery baby-faced arsonist ignited four different fires inside a Brooklyn supermarket Monday night, police said. The suspect entered the Food Bazaar near Junius Street in Brownsville at around 6:15 p.m. and set four separate fires throughout the store while customers were inside, police said. Surveillance footage captured the brazen arsonist lighting a shelf of chips on fire and then casually skipping away. A store security guard uses a hose from the bakery to try to put the fire.

The first entirely vegan supermarket chain has filed for bankruptcy due to a lack of demand, according to reports on Monday. SACO, Maine — The person charged with fatally stabbing a mother of five in a Maine supermarket went to the store to kill “several random people,” according to a court affidavit released Thursday that says the suspect confessed to the slaying. Connor MacCalister followed Wendy Boudreau from the parking lot of the Shaw’s supermarket in Saco into the ice cream aisle, grabbed the 59-year-old woman from behind and slit her throat, the suspect told police.
