Former Vice President Joe Biden appeared to stumble over his words while discussing the economy and taxes on Tuesday night. "Why should someone who's clipping coupons in the stock market may, in fact, pay a lower tax rate than someone who in fact is, like I said, a schoolteacher and a fireman? It's ridiculous," Biden said. Biden made those comments while appearing at the fourth Democratic debate. Biden has long been the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination but is facing a potential challenge Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., who has been gaining traction in key states.

Witnesses told Var-matin the young woman attacked a customer and employee. Tom Llamas is not the hero Houston needs right now, according to how some of his dispatches were received on Tuesday morning. The ABC News reporter, using the #BREAKING hashtag, told his followers that he saw “looting” taking place at a supermarket in the northeast part of the city, an area grappling with catastrophic floods and supply shortages. And that there was a dead body nearby. In that order. He was immediately met with a heavy dose of internet WTF:
  • Supermarket removes all foreign groceries from shelves to make point about racism

A supermarket in Germany has made a controversial point by removing all foreign products from its shelves. The Edeka supermarket in Hamburg said that it wanted to confront racism with their own narrow-minded views and for a day sold German-only products. On the shelves they had messages such as ‘this shelf is quite boring without vaiety’ while the salad bar had a sign saying ‘our selection knows borders today’ and the cheese counter said ‘so empty is a shelf without foreigners’. That meant there were no Spanish tomatoes, olives from Greece and an all but empty cheese counter.

A new video shows footage of civilians holding the terrorist to the floor and searching him for the knife. Later, police arrive and handcuff the suspect. In the video, civilians can be heard calling, "Where's the knife? Where's the knife? Where's the knife you, son of a wh***?" and "Did you call an ambulance?" The terrorist stabbed a 43-year-old man at a supermarket in the central city of Yavneh on Wednesday morning, just before noon. Police say the incident was a terror attack. United Hatzalah EMT Netanel Moyal said, "While I was at work near the location of the incident...

A mystery baby-faced arsonist ignited four different fires inside a Brooklyn supermarket Monday night, police said. The suspect entered the Food Bazaar near Junius Street in Brownsville at around 6:15 p.m. and set four separate fires throughout the store while customers were inside, police said. Surveillance footage captured the brazen arsonist lighting a shelf of chips on fire and then casually skipping away. A store security guard uses a hose from the bakery to try to put the fire.

If you’re a robot stealing somebody’s job, it’s best to stay hidden. That’s what Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos appears to be thinking, as his Seattle-based web giant has contemplated a two-story, automated grocery store in which a staff of robots on the floor upstairs grabs and bags items for shoppers below. The ground level of the futuristic prototype — a supermarket-sized version of its recently unveiled “Amazon Go” convenience store, with a bigger layout that could span anywhere between 10,000 and 40,000 square feet — would be devoted to goods that shoppers typically like to touch, sources briefed on the...

Jan Bredack, the founder of the chain, told the paper: “The model of the vegan supermarket outstripped itself, because of the growing supply of vegan produce.” …

Grocery store chain Albertsons Cos. is buying back 33 stores the government required it to sell when it acquired rival Safeway Inc. earlier this year, a highly unusual development approved by a judge on Tuesday that highlights a misfire by U.S. antitrust enforcers. Little has gone according to plan since the Federal Trade Commission allowed the Albertsons-Safeway tie-up in January on the condition that the companies sell 168 stores to preserve competition in several Western states. Without the divestitures, Albertsons would be too dominant in 130 local markets, the FTC said when it agreed to a settlement with the merging...
