Support the Troops--Wear Red on Fridays I am writing to encourage everyone to begin wearing something red every Friday. Whether you want the troops to come home or support their presence in foreign lands, we should all show our gratitude for their sacrifices. Please help spread the word to your family, friends and co-workers, that Americans support the troops and their families. Even a small gesture like this can boost their morale and let them know we are thankful for their service. Brendan Steinhauser San Diego, CA bstein80@yahoo.com

The anti-war display hung at the home of Steve and Virginia Pearcy includes a Palestinian and Iraqi flag. This is the second time this week that the couple has hung a U.S. soldier in effigy. Earlier the couple shamefully hung a soldier by a noose with a sign that read “Your Tax Dollars at Work.” The new sign says “Bush Lied. I Died.”

It's become a phenomenon on four wheels: magnets for cars, with ribbons that say "Support Our Troops." In a particularly heated election year, the magnets are one thing drivers -- and voters -- seem to be able to agree on. "Geez, they're everywhere," says Bob Fortini, proprietor of Fortini's Service Station in Somerville. "It seems like every car you get behind has one lately. I saw three of them on one car this morning. It's exploded in the last month." There are several variations on the magnet. Some of the ribbons are yellow. Some are red, white, and blue. Some...

CANTON — Fawcett Stadium’s 20,000 football fans were on their feet and cheering Sunday. So were the Class of 2004 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinees and the National Football League, who joined the fans in saluting active military and veterans. With chants of “U.S.A., U.S.A.” reverberating throughout Fawcett, Marine Lance Corp. Christopher Johnson, Marine Lance Corp. Kevin Crumley, Staff Sgt. Thomas Gillis and Army PFC Spec. Allen Lewis soaked in the applause usually reserved for the likes of Elway. The four are Purple Heart recipients, troops injured in battle. Their injuries range from lost limbs to lost sight. “It...

The death of former NFL defensive back Pat Tillman, who gave up his lucrative job with the Arizona Cardinals to enlist in the armed forces, has had a significant impact on NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. Tillman’s widow, Marie, was an invited guest Sunday to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s enshrinement ceremony, along with four other soldiers who had limbs amputated. Tagliabue spoke at the enshrinement and then made sure he was out of the congestion in time to make a dinner at Brookside Country Club. The NFL hosted a dinner there for Purple Heart veterans. Hall of Famer Deacon...

It was a wonderful Freep even though it end prematurely by a sudden downpour. We did manage to outlast the lefties. It started about a half an hour early with Trteamer, Bullet Bob, and Roy and Roberta from the Fife and Drum Corps and your truly. By the time Jim, Sheila and Chris arrived we took over three corners and the traffic responded with enthusiasm We managed to Freep until 12:30 before the skies opened up and some more much needed rain fell to the earth soaking everything in its path, including us. I didn't get any pictures of the...

Operation Infinite FReep, After Freep Report - Fort Collins Colorado Supports Our Troops 4/24/04 Fort Collins Supports Our Troops! As always, the support for our overseas heros from passersby at one of Ft. Collins' busiest intersections was overwhelming. In addition to the constant honking and the thumbs up, I noticed a larger number of people than usual - especially younger guys - who would yell out their windows to us, things like, "Thank You!" and "USA!" and similar. Two weeks ago, the leftists' numbers were down to only two, and last week it was only Duncan out there (more on...

Hello Fellow Freepers, I know this question may of been discussed in the past, so please forgive me if this question is a repeat. I was wondering what sort of online Web Sites one would visit where as one would be able to find out how one would communicate with our troops on a friendly penpal basis? I would like to express my gratitude to our fighting men and women around the World who are protecting our freedoms on a personal level via a letter and care package! Thank you for any answers, and God Bless You and America!

Well by the numbers we whooped the commie SOBs!! We drove south from Seattle and were looking for exit 122. When we got to exit 126 we saw a large group of people with flags. We almost thought we had the exit number wrong but we kept on. At the next exit there were more people and the next and then at #122 it was a sea of Red, White and Blue. Old Glory has rarely had a prouder day than she did today. The Anit-war crowd had a special meeting to make signs. Most of us had one flying...
