Police discovered the naked body of a 32-year-old man inside a barrel at Malibu Lagoon State Beach on Monday. Authorities identified the deceased victim as Javonnta Murphy, an aspiring musician from Sylmar, California, according to the Los Angeles Times. A lifeguard allegedly discovered the 55-gallon drum in the lagoon at around 10 a.m. Monday, according to Lt. Hugo Reynaga. Upon inspection, Murphy’s body was found sealed within the barrel, showing no signs of decomposition, the Times reported.        LOS ANGELES – A Sylmar man was charged today in a federal grand jury indictment alleging that he deliberately set Hollywood’s Pizzeria Mozza restaurant on fire during the civil disturbances that struck the city in late May.          Mario Ernesto Alvarado, 42, is charged with one count of arson. His arraignment is scheduled for August 10 in United States District Court. Alvarado was arrested on a federal criminal complaint in this case on July 16. Vandalism at a Jewish chapel in a Sylmar cemetery is being investigated as a hate crime, a sheriff's sergeant said. A groundskeeper contacted authorities at about 9 a.m. Saturday after discovering the vandalism at Glen Haven Memorial Park and Mortuary at 13017 Lopez Canyon Road in Sylmar, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt.
