Marines return from Iraq with THUNDER. Today Company A, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines returned to Grand Rapids Michigan. They were late. Thousands waited inside the Deltaplex, again and again checking their watches, then looking at the gate, then at watches and gate, watches, gate.... Shouting USA USA USA...Holding high their signs... looking at each other....no longer sitting but standing and hearing the announcer say, " Your Marines have landed - they are on the bus - but they are only able to proceed through Grand Rapids at 20 miles per hour because they are being escorted by FOUR HUNDRED AND...
