Lebanon County officials were sputtering mad Friday at the Wolf Administration’s decision to leave it as the only one of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties that is not taking at least a partial step toward the green, or least restrictive, phase of the state’s coronavirus reopening plan next week. The county’s four-member legislative delegation - which helped stoke the county commissioner’s decision to break out of the state’s reopening schedule last month - issued an open letter to county residents condemning Gov. Tom Wolf and his Health Secretary, Dr. Rachel Levine, for punishing the county. “If there was ever any doubt that...

Lebanon County is the only county in Pennsylvania that is not being given approval from Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration to move to the green phase. The Wolf administration said Friday 12 more counties will move next week to the green phase, the least restrictive in the governor’s plan to reopen Pennsylvania amid the coronavirus pandemic. Those counties include Philadelphia and all of its suburbs. Earlier Friday, eight counties, including Dauphin, moved into the green phase. As of Friday, 54 counties are now in the green phase, with 12 more headed there next Friday. On June 26, Lebanon County will stand...

Pa. Gov. Tom Wolf has spent the last handful of Fridays moving counties from one phase to another within his color-coded coronavirus reopening plan. Will more areas of the state be designated tomorrow to move forward to the least restrictive zone, the green one, as soon as next week? If the trend continues, the answer is yes, as a number of counties have been in the yellow phase for 14 days, which is the minimum amount of time a location must spend there before it is eligible to move on to green. Two weeks is hardly a maximum, though, as...
  • What’s next? A look at which Pa. counties could be headed for green under Wolf’s coronavirus rules

If you’re looking for the next batch of Pennsylvania counties to move to green, or the last stage of the Wolf Administration’s coronavirus pandemic reopening plan, we suggest you look north and west. That is, after all, where the 20 counties that have been in the yellow phase for at least two weeks are. State Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine has said in the past that how counties in the yellow phase continue to fare over a 14-day period against the metrics used to move them there from the state’s red phase in the first place is a key barometer...
